Hi!
Digging my UFS a lot. Last night I probably Vaped for about 7 hours on it last night until it was almost empty. Today I took it apart to clean it and apply vasoline to o rings and refill. When I removed the atty I noticed a something peeling off if it. Looked like pealing lacquer of some form.
Are Joye 510 LR stainless coated with something?

That would suck if true.

Thanks,

Chris.

Yes I use Joye LR atty and when soak the outer layer peel off. Even the SS one have a plastic coated thing coming off.

So how are you dealing with this Pain? From what I see it's dissolving into the liquid some of it. I don't want to be inhaling plastic.

This scares me.

When it's newly open it's ok. Is everytime after I soak with IPA and uses ultrasonic to clean the atty, the coating came off. From there I'll jus try to peel off the coating as much as possible. It's worse if you're using those color atty, it will eventually wear off and become SS.

I'm cleaning with vodka in ultrasonic as well Pain. I haven't had it come off in the cleaner yet. Only in the UFS. Is there a way to get it off before using. How long do you put in the ultrasonic.

Thanks,

Chris

You are cleaning with Isopropyl Alcohol? Not so sure I would do that. I use PGA to clean with and it works fine.

From the Wiki: Isopropyl alcohol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Isopropyl alcohol is oxidized by the liver into acetone by alcohol dehydrogenase. Symptoms of isopropyl alcohol poisoning include flushing, headache, dizziness, CNS depression, nausea, vomiting, anesthesia, and coma. Poisoning can occur from ingestion, inhalation, or absorption; therefore, well-ventilated areas and protective gloves are recommended."

I uses IPA to soak and wash it off with hot water in the ultrasonic. I do it 3 times in ultrasonic before letting it dry. Sound scary but I notice Alot of people do that too.

Zor,

I'm cleaning with Vodka so this doesn't apply to me. But what does is that these are coated for sure with some kind of what I think is Lacquer.

Does anyone know where to get uncoated attys??

Thanks,

Chris

I've used VK and IKV atties in the UFS and never saw this before. Use stainless V9 cartomizers in the AVS-- same thing.

Got a pic?

I don't have a pic. It's so thin and brittle but it's definitely pealing off.
I'll try and get one next time.

This is the 4th one in a row though.
