Auto bat sticking on

I have an auto bat that has started to stick on. It has got progressively worse with age and I was wondering if anyone had this happen and if anything could be done to fix the issue. It's an older battery and I wouldn't feel right asking for replacement. I thought it may simply have some sticky juice gunk in the switch and have flushed it with warm water but it continues to stick.

I've fixed a few that did this to me by soaking the carto end in half a shotglass of rubbing alcohol overnight and letting it completely dry.

There has been a few that just weren't fixable though.
