I have heard of a few "fixes" for sticky auto switches, of course it also depends on which model you use. For 510 and l88b (blu) batteries and maybe a few others, you take the battery while it's unattached to anything (no atty cart or whatever) and you draw hard on it as if you were vaping it from the connection side. Draw hard on it a half dozen times or so, then reattach your atty or carto and test vape. If it works, yippie, if not, try again.

If that fails, some have mentioned that a few light taps on the LED end of the battery against a solid surface has worked for them.

I used to be an auto battery user. I liked being able to use them "hands-free" but finally decided that consistancy was more important than a negligible convenience and switched to manual batteries. I still have a few auto pieces but use them rarely. Most of my friends switched as well for similar reasons.

Is this a new battery and was it always like that or is it oldr and used to be fine?

It's about two months old, and it used to work fine. The battery itself is still good, I just have to cover all of the vent holes to get it to turn on. Once it's on, it stays on for 2-3 seconds so I can vape with it - sort of.

Tried the first fix several times, but no luck. Will try the tap&pray fix when I get home.

Sorry that didn't work for you. Sometimes the auto batteries sensor is just too hard or too sensitive in some models. You might want to get with whoever sold it to you and see if they have an exchange policy. That really is the main downside to auto batts, sometimes the sensor just won't work right in some. Out of a dozen L88b batts I would get one or two like that. Some cut off early, some were hard to keep running, some worked perfectly, some would work fine one minute and fritz out the next. They really are an unpredictable breed.
