Auto feeding can occur when a very thin juice is used or when the temperature is really warm causing either the juice or the air to expand in the bottle (I don't know which) and then seeks the only escape route which is the feed tube and atty/carto. In some cases a clogged atty/carto can cause auto feeding. There have been rare occasions where auto feeding has happened without problems. There are other times when it happens and doesn't stop and the juice overflows the reservoir. To avoid this, don't over fill the juice bottle, when the temperatures outside are really hot, don't fill the bottle all the way...and blow out the atomizer if its clogged. Also, when using really runny juices, its a good idea to install the "reducer tube" in the end of your feed tube to reduce the volume of juice freely flowing up the feed tube.

*edit...if its not causing you any trouble, you have just become the envy of many. :D

Think my Grand is auto feeding with new HB atty. Hardly squonking at all and using juice. If it is auto feeding how would I know and how does this happen? Thanks.

I have experienced the same thing. It didn't take very long before my cup was flooded. When the cup is flooded, it becomes difficult to draw on at first. I think when you first draw on it and get nothing(not even the gurgle), it is actually pulling from the bottle.

I emptied the cup and didn't touch the bottle again, and I was able to run it dry. It's sporadic but it is happening. I think the key is keeping the cup dry?

I thought it was just me. I use 80/20 juice, but I live in Houston - hot and humid right now. I didn't notice until this thread that the mini's always full catch cup only happens during the day when I'm outside. No flooding or overflowing so I'm okay with it. It happens with the mini wood also, but not to the same extent.

My two Mini Reos self-feed. VG 60/PG 40 joose. The catch cup never overflows unless I tip the Reo over lol.
This doesn't happen with my Grand, my Mini Woodvils, or my Woodvil. Go figure!

I have been using my two devices (mini and grand) for several months and have not had any auto feed problems, until recently and only with my grand. I found it very odd and hard to explain and came here looking for answers - and I think I have found it. I haven't been using juices that are different, and I live in FL, its always hot.

Based on this thread it dawns on me it must be the atty! I have been using this one on the grand for 6 weeks or so and while I blow it out fairly regularly it must be "clogged" to some degree. I have in the past week or so been noticing my overflow cup constantly being wet, which wasnt the case previously. So I am swapping to a new atty this morning and will see if that solved the problem. Its still firing well so I hate to just toss it, but heck at the end of the day constantly drying out the cup would be more costly then buying a new atty!

Thanks for the insights in this thread!

I'm in FL also. So far I've found my Reo's to be seasonal.
I learned in the late spring that my Mini will auto feed and flood my attys with pg dominant juice. So I switched to vg, then the weather got hotter and it auto fed. Then I switched to cartos and that worked until this past week. As of now I'm enjoying 100% vg auto feeding my cartos, its feeding just slow enough that it works out good.
My Grand does this to a lesser extent.
Not a complaint, just an observation.

Yep if its not the heat or change in elevation its most likely the atty.

I find it happens more with cartos than attys myself. I think because I keep them wet and gurgley it creates more suction.
But I did have a few attys with a super tight draw and they would feed till the bottle got down to 3/4 tank.
