I ordered two auto shorties with my V-day splurge one works perfectly and the other only seems to "activate" when I make a quick/hard draw (like lighting a pipe or cigar) and only stays active with what feels like alot of suction compared to my other shorty and regular bats... Not quite unusable, but not the same pleasant experience as the others... which is a shame because it's a very pretty chrome model. :D

Would something like this be a switch problem or just a quirk? Being fairly new, I don't want to raise the bad battery/switch flag before getting some words of wisdom from everyone here.

I know someone out there has been there and done that... and that's the best part of this forum! :)

Gotta love those chrome shorties.... :)

Make sure you try a different carto or two that you know are good. I had a regular battery do what you are describing, and when I took off the carto....the little hole was almost completely filled with.....well.....fill. The polyfill wasn't allowing a decent draw nor allowing the auto to stay on.

One thing I always recommend is to NOT use auto batteries when refilling cartomizers. Use auto batteries on fresh cartos only. Use manual batteries on refilled cartomizers.

If I am reading correctly, one battery has a normal draw and one has a real hard draw?
This could be that the threaded end needs a cleaning. I tell this to folks all the time, so not a big deal. Take an old toothbrush, dip it in a capful of rubbing alcohol and brush the heck out of the threads for half a minute.

Then see how she goes.

@ Doctor Rock: She's on the charger now

@ maxx: Makes sense to me. I'll try that after getting a full charge.

@ bornagainst: Sounds like you've given me test #3 if the others don't work. Your description of the draw is spot on. I'm still building my stockpile of "empties," but have picked up a couple of manuals for when I'm ready to become a refiller instead of a taste tester!

Y'all are awesome! :D
