Hi - Ok, so maybe they aren't the usual modding choice but does anyone know anything about how to reliably fix/unstick the automatic switches in vaporette batteries? Or maybe where they might be bought? I've got some on a week-long soak in isopropyl but don't know if it will help.
I've also had a number of batts that seem to develop a vacuum leak somewhere as the switches don't trip well. And others that seem to get plugged up and you have to drag like a Hoover to kick them off - Anybody have any tribal knowledge to pass on about this stuff? Like how important is a good air/vacuum seal between the batt connector and the round circuit board. It's nominally got thin heat shrink on it but you end up breaking the seal when you take the batt apart or need to cut it to swap out a diode/transistor that's died.
I prefer the autos so that I can keep both hands free and can fix most things that go wrong but the switches, themselves, kick my rear end...
