Ok, I am having a bit of a problem. I have been vaping for a while and was doing great with no cravings for a cig or anything from May until August.. I started in May with a KR8 manual and then switched to KR8 autos, because manuals just weren't for me. In August I decided to switch from KR8 to an Ego type device, because of the option of using carts that hold more liquid and for the battery life. I didn't change the MG of what I vaped or anything else, just the device itself.

I am not sure if it is because Ego type devices are all manual, or what, but I am starting to think that I just have a problem with manual batts and have to have something that is automatic. I've tried the Ego automatic battery, but it fried on me over the holidays while I was out of town because of its sensitivity to sound/wind, which I never had a KR8 automatic ever be set off by either.

So I was wondering if anyone knew of any better Ego type batteries, or perhaps a mod that is automatic instead of manual.

I really don't want to go back to a KR8, because I am spoiled by battery life and higher capacity carts/cartos etc now. I know, I could go to a auto passthrough so i wouldn't have to worry about battery life, but I don't really want to do that either. So maybe I am just out of luck?

Thanks for any help.

In KR808D-1, the Greenworld G400 is a 900 mAh auto 3.7V battery. I used a kit for about 3 months, so about 45 charge cycles on each battery, happy with the performance although as an auto you do have to pull harder than a manual.

Just about to get rid of mine, just because I'm going VV after a brief foray into Riva 510s.

Most likely your problem is NOT that auto vs. manual but the POWER or hit you are getting , Are you NOT satisfied ? not getting a big enough hit to satisfy you ?

If so you need to go to a higher wattage or power device , there are 2 main ways to do this

1. Variable Voltage 2. LR attys .
there are advantages to VV , you can adjust the hit to whatever you want easily and can set it for different juices and the flavor , the LR attys have one main drawback , they over stress the batteries beyond their design point and tend to shorten the battery life expectancy.

Thanks for the replies. I guess the main thing is just have to keep trying harder I guess.

I guess I will give the Ego automatics a try again, as long as they stay at home they shouldn't fry on me because of being activated by sound and use the manuals while out and about.

Buzzkill: I don't think it's the power of the hit thing that I'm craving. I have an Infinity and use it at around the 4.5-5v range so I think I have that covered. I find this range to be where I get the most flavor/vapor production and am quite happy with that. I have always attributed it to the fact that I get bored having to press a button to vape all of the time.

Yeah I know, I am the only fan of automatic batteries out here in vapeland, but ah well! If I weren't, maybe there'd be better automatic batts out on the market or even automatic mods.
