Not sure if I should of started a new thread for this, though here goes.
My anticipation for the next batch of GGTS's has hit fever pitch today, as I sold one of our Dons to help have the cash ready.
Just been looking on Cam's site and cannot see any of the magnetic switches available. Will there be the option to upgrade to the MS, when the next GGTS's are ready?
Also can you choose to have the brass switch in the first place, instead of having to upgrade, also the brass end pieces? Really love the look of the GGTS this way, though seems a waste to have parts I would not be using.

Just had me searching for that brass ring Dream, was getting jealous. :)
Yeah thanks for the replies, guess I should of just used the search button, getting lazy in my old age; I put it down to being over excited.
So seems I will just need the bress telescope and brass, button(Hopefully magnetic, though not sounding good on that front; any news Imeo?) to get the look I am after.

Mine didn't, and i don't think any of them did. Mine came with brass end caps, the rest is steel (i think! Don't know about the Control Ring and switch, there might be nickel somewhere....)

The low profile button is nickel plated and it's real easy to make it brass and also round if you don't like hexagonal

para, you think something this would strip the nickel off the control ring, but still preserve the brass...or might that gradually dissolve too?

I'd be real cautious about using that on brass or aluminum. HERE is a case where it went bad. The site, finishing.com, is a great resource for all plating issues. If you know the chemical content of the solution I would check with them. HERE is where they address the possibility. It appears as though concentrated nitric acid is one method.

All precedures require some really caustic liquids so caution would be paramount. I've been researching a good method for a month and haven't found anything I'm willing to pull the trigger on yet. I know a plating company can reverse the current and strip it, but don't know the cost.

O o. Looking good. Please tell. Dremel it round, then polish like crazy?
Think I prefer the hexagon, though of course liking the switch colour. (Yes that is the only correct spelling. :p)

Dremel is the correct answer. I've worn out 2 so far this year....literally worn out the motors. Sand the button with fine paper and then polish with buffs and polishing compound

Thanks Para and Clavit, good to hear. In the words of Columbo "There's just one more thing." :) and for the hat trick, does the GGTS SS come with the gold switch?

switch is steel because we touch it all day with our hands and it gets dull very quickly Carol:)
