The BLADE Sliding Mechanical mod - Chrome
$49.95

The Blade takes a unique approach in that it does not use a fire button to activate the atomizer. Instead it uses an inner battery tube into which you insert your 18650 battery. Then you screw the 510 connection top back over the mod and after attaching your carto you slide the inner tube up with your thumb and it fires your atomizer. It utilizes a brass firing pin and spring that should provide long life.

The Blade can accommodate 18650 natively. But you can use your 18500 and 18350 batteries with use of tube adapters (available for purchase separately in this category). Insert one adapter and you can use your 18500 batteries. Insert two adapters and you can use your 18350 batteries. Use of larger or smaller batteries does not affect the length of this mod. Use of smaller batteries is strictly for convenience.

What you get:
  • 3 Piece chrome plated copper construction Blade Mod: outer tube, inner battery tube and top 510 connection and firing head.
  • Dimensions: 102mm, 4.0 inches high; 24mm, 1.0 inches wide
  • Adapters available in another listing in this category.

From the description above..."it uses an inner battery tube into which you insert your 18650 battery."

Yes....you can use panasonic 18650 batts :)

I believe the question comes out because the Panasonic battery uses a thicker than normal outer heat shrink covering and doesn't fit in all 18650 type MOD's .... For instance, it doesn't fit in a ZMax but it does fit the VAMO

As a rule of thumb... non-variable MOD's you'd want a protected cell... variable one's will require a high drain battery such as the IMR's ( which happen to be unprotected because they don't require it ). A high drain type can be used in a non-variable but there is little reason since they cost more and have less MAH available than some of the protected one's have.

The issue of length or using a button top or flat top, as you bring up... is also another issue will always be an issue as long as the people that are engineering these things are being short sighted and not taking the issue into account when designing them. The sad part, is that this shouldn't be an issue since it can be so simply resolved by using a slightly longer spring as well as a contact on the positive end ( for flat top batteries ) that could adjust for the minor differences seen on batteries.

I was hoping someone that had one would post what batts they use...

They probably will once someone has one in their hands but it was just released through GV two days ago... not really enough time for people to have tried anything since today would be likely the first day they may have gotten one ( and Monday for those that may live further out AND ordered on the first day it was released. )

I have one of these and it came with an 18650(no sure of brand) that fits a little snug. I was told that the efest batts don't fit due to the heat shrink being to thick. The 18650's that you can get with the k100 work great with this as well as the vapesafe.

The eFest batteries heat shrink is thinner than the Panasonic's which have already been stated to fit... so what you've heard wasn't correct
