After 2 months and about $200 of stuff, I was about ready to go back to analog cigs. I just couldn't get the satisfaction with the e cigs that I had with analogs and felt that I wasn't saving any money and had added aggrivation with the constant battery, atty and cart changes. After researching this site some more I came across xLowEndx's post on the cartridge mod section. He explains how to use shreded pyramid tea bags to pack your carts. I repacked two of my carts using his method last night. I have been vaping these since then and have found that it produces not only more vapor and flavor but my batteries last longer and I expect my attys will also since it requires less energy/heat to produce the quality vapor. The following is the address for xLowEndx's thread:  Oops! You'll have to look it up since I'm not allowed to post urls as I'm too new to the site. It's definately worth the search!!

I have also ordered a pass through for my 510 and expect this to save batteries as well. I intially didn't like the idea of being tethered to an outlet/usb but will give it a try. I wish I had found this info initially as it would have saved me a lot of frustration.

Many thanks to xLowEndx, GrimmGreen, dOKieSmok, and all others who developed the cart mod.

Yeah, the PTB mod is great. Here is one of the links:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/32683-only-way-ptb-works.html

Coffee filter mod, straw mod, and blue foam mod, are also good solutions.
Although, you may find later (as many do) that 'dripping' is the best way to go.

If you're lucky and got the passthrough with the inline battery, you will not have to be tethered to the comp all the time. The inline will charge when you are plugged in and then you can unplug and use it for hours. The inline is equal to about 2.5 stock 510 batts.

I had nothing but trouble with the inline battery. I ended up cutting the cord and wired direct to the USB plug. My 3 other passthroughs came in without the battery, and work just fine.

I've purchased 4 with in-line batt (all from RMV) I use 1, wife uses 1, and 2 were for my sis and her husband. I have not had (or heard of) a single problem with any of them (been using about 2 months).

What I love (well loved...I haven't used mine since I got my Chucks) about the inline was that when on the go, I could just unplug and take it in the car or wherever. In fact the only time I break out my stock batts anymore, is when I am trying to be stealthy:cool:.

Your mom said not to say...
I guess you people are going to insist this is the best mod until I try it, I can't see it being easier than Fluval which can be cut to size and slide right in no problem and wicks about as well as the original filler if not better. I suppose I will order some up from Cignot that way I can't blame it on poor folding or technique. I am leery because it is so popular in Ohio.

Snarky... I wouldn't necessarily say the PTB mod is the best, but defiantly worth trying. It may or may not be for you.
It's pretty easy to throw together, but since you're from Michigan, it might be to complicated for you :) so you could buy some pre-made if you don't think you can pull it off .

Personally, I think the best cart mods are either the straw mod or the blue foam. The blue foam is possibly the best, but it takes some work to get it just right. I have found that the best way to use the foam is: blue foam cut about a 3/8 inch short, then about a 1/4 of the standard polyfil on top of that to keep the juice from running out. It seems like the blue foam alone just doesn't hold in the juice.

Having said all that, I have recently (last couple weeks) done away with cart filler all together and just drip these days. I just can't stand that burnt filler taste anymore, regardless of what that filler is.

BTW: I thought all the trees in Michigan bend to the south 'cause Michigan blows.

Ohio has ruined all the trees in Michigan, how can you say it's sweet? All the trees in Michigan bend to the south because Ohio sucks so much! Hahaha it's all in good fun.

It may or may not be for you.

I've sometimes wondered if its really only the men here who get to be called "Michiganders".. if in proper form a woman living here would be actually be considered a"Michigoose" ;)

Here when cat or a dog as walks away with tail raised giving the resulting 'full view' we call that 'showing its Ohio license plate" ;)
