Hello everyone,

I have been having big problems with my OHms reading capabilities lately it seems, now my Baby Beast tank I got with my Alien Mod not reading Ohms on any Mod. I put in a new coil and Ohms will not read, might be a bad coil I thought but if I put it on my Coil Master TAB OHMS reader it reads just fine and fires. So is it the coil, I have one more coil after this and hate to waste one as they are not cheap and I have found myself with so many devices my coil costs are going up and up, but I just can't stop..lol. The first coil I put in this tank lasted a week then tasted burnt, the second one lasted a month and a half and the last one three weeks. My vaping has been consistent but the coil performance doesn't seem to be and I always run the same juice in it, Strawberry Cheesecake DIY. Any help would be appreciated, if I have to chuck the coil I will but if there is another way I would prefer to try it. Thanks so much for your time...Love to all...Kitten

I found something along your problem.

"So I disassembled the tank and pulled the coil, the whole contact bar was black towards the outer edges. Not good. This means the coil gets into contact with the base of the tank shorting the whole setup.

So I cleaned off the bar, threw it all back together this time not over tightening the coil and just making it finger tight on the base. Then slowly assembled the base to the tank.

Now the other issue is that the positive contact on the base is floating style, this means when you tighten the base to the top portion (it attaches via coil to chimney), when you tighten these two together, it will still push the coil down, pushing out the contact pin and possibly setting the contact bar of the coil, to the base of the tank.

Anyway, I put the tank back on the mod, resistance readout is saying 0.25Ω... So one of the 4 coils had to have popped between the last known good draw, placing it on a mech mod and having issues with selecting Yes New Coil and it firing an extremely warm vapor at 72.5W and then eventually disassembling the tank.

The only way I can see this issue being addresses is the coil bar needs a secondary step that is less the width of the inner base cup where the positive contact rests, this will allow zero contact of the original positive bar to hit the inner base of the tank."

Have you checked to see if the 510 pin on the bottom of the BB is flush or protruding?

That reminded me, since it has a protruding pin, I put it on a Mech and it works fine. I believe that is safe, working great, not getting hot or anything. To be extra safe, does this sound safe to you, it is the protruding pin's that can go on Mech Mods...right? Thanks so much
