Hi. I just joined this great forum and have been enjoying all the posts. I am also very new to e-cigs. After smoking for 46 years (started pretty young!), I had the typical breathing, coughing and sinus problems and was always thinking about quitting. I last quit cold turkey in April 2011 and immediately started having major problems. False asthma attacks, false heart attacks and real panic attacks. It seemed my body did not know how to breathe or operate without cigarettes. After 6 weeks with even more problems, I started smoking again just to feel "normal", but not happy about failing once again.

Two weeks ago I was introduced to the e-cig. I tried one, fell in love and knew this was the answer I had been looking for. I haven't smoked in 10 days and rarely think about it. My breathing and sinus problems are gone and I feel like my usual self, only better! Quitting any other way felt like it was killing me. The e-cig has saved my life. I am confident that I will never need to smoke again or live in fear of having some kind of 'attack' caused by not having the smoking process.

I have long-term goals, but for now, I'm just happy to start each day with clear breathing and knowing I finally found a way to quit that works for me. I just need to learn all I can about different types of e-cigs and e-liquids to find what I like best. It seems this forum will be an excellent place to research and meet others I can relate to and learn from.

This desert rose has been uprooted and replanted quite a few places, including Arizona where I got the name. I just noticed, we're neighbors! How 'bout that?

Yep. I won't get into what is going on between us neighbors this Friday. That may get this thread thrown to OUTSIDE!

(Really wish I could get the time and tickets to attend in person though...)

There are more than a few Kentucky folks on ECF. There's even a vet member who has opened up a shop from KY that I greatly respect.

Welcome to the forum and e cigs.I quit with them after 50 years of smoking with some bursts of quitting it's really pretty painless this way Good Luck;)

Thanks for the welcome. Painless and almost effortless. Quitting cannot get any easier than this. It's not a 100% breeze, but it sure beats other attempts! I'm still going through the coughing part of having just quit and trying to get rid of the smoke odors around me, but it's all for a good cause :).
