Back after a seven year yo-yo

Hey everyone. My story is pretty much my failed attempts at quiting smoking. Seven years ago I found ecigs, and it worked for almost four months. Well back then it was harder to find stuff. Well I lost my setup and bought a pack of cigs, and was back on the bad habit. Had a few more attempts since but all ended up falling through. Now I am again almost four months no cigs. I started this time on smokeless tobacco, but have been using vaping for when I crave inhaling and exhaling(when I'm thinking or drinking). Hopefully this time especially with it being more available the switch will remain permanent.

Welcome back and congrats on four months off the cigs. Best of luck this go around, and do keep us apprised of your continued success.

Hello and allow me to welcome you to ECF!

Congratulations on quitting smoking! If you need any how-to advice, general shopping or usage tips we have plenty of them. :vapor:

What vape gear do you have?

(I quit a 2 PAD habit 4-1/2 years ago)
I have a pile if batts. What I'm using now is a vuse alto got two batts and six pods for twenty bucks. I like the ease of use and vape I get. Had an itaste box mod, many other variable voltage pen style. Many tanks, one of my favs was the vapage honeycomb. I may get into the bigger setups again. The simplicity has me right now, and they are nothing like the crappy cig looking devices of old.

I wish you well... congratulations on your quit once more! Feel free to join in any of the threads, we have casual lounge chitchatting threads too..

Welcome back. Relapses aren't unusual in this process, even seven-year relapses. The good news is that there are better and more effective options now than there were then.

It sounds like you've got a good plan. The key to success is to remember that if life doesn't cooperate with your plan, try again. Either get back on the horse or work out a new strategy - and ECF is a great source of advice if you ever need to do that.

I expect ECF has changed a bit over the last seven years. For one thing, we now have a Vape Pod forum you might like.

I wish you lasting success this time.

Welcome back. I have a similar story. Encountered ecigs about 9 years ago now. Quit for 6 weeks, then took a really stressful job. Then, I dual used and eventually gave up on ecigs completely.

I took it seriously this time around, and I was a 3 ppd smoker getting very NEAR a COPD diagnosis. I am so grateful vaping worked for me this time around. I think I would be either dead or very very unhappy if I had not made the switch oh... almost two years ago.

You can do it. Erase every past failure from your mind, and just hang in there. Every quit is different, and every quit can be The One.

Make it Your One.

Yeah it's hard the first few weeks, but I think I have It this time. I smoked 2 plus packs a day for close to twenty years. My son just turned 1, and I knew if I kept up I was going to die.

Hi @noholesinmyclothes,

I have a recent relapse story as well. It's hard, no doubt about it.
Don't kick yourself in the a** about it. You're making the right steps. Congrats and welcome back
Thanks. Saw your post. Sorry about the wreck. Had a almost shouldn't be here moment as well.
