Hi all

I joined this forum over a year ago (wow just looked at my join date -- it was over 2 years ago) when I first heard about e-cigs. I bought a starter kit and the first few days were awesome. But then the batteries didnt last long, or the cart didnt last longer than an hour or some combination of the two. Gave up.

Then a few months ago I bought a kit from 7-11 and tried again. Lasted a day and didn't like it.

The a few days ago I saw an ad online for Blu and it looked cool so I came back to do some reasearch. I think I read these forums for 15-17 hours the past three days. Watched Vids and learned more.

People here really seem to like it so I decided to give it anoter go. I ordered a bunch of carts, and a few batts from Bloog because people seemed to be impressed.

Now just waiting for it to come in. Hope I like it this time.

Since you had trouble in the past, I must warn you that if you ordered a Blu, it is consider one of the worst PV's on the market. The Bloog Max Fusion seems to have a much better rep, at least for a mini PV.

If you really want to be successful, I would suggest you at least get a good beginner PV such as the eGo or Riva 510 or the VGO 801. Always get manual batteries, blank carts and eliquid in 24mg strength to start out with. Here is a good site with a good sale on their kits:

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

Good Luck

not sure if you meant the blu or the bloog OP but i almost got a blu as my first ecig and im beyond happy i didnt. especially with the issues you had before. youll save yourself a lot of time and hassle if you just dive in and get an ego-t system right now. its the opposite of all the problems you had and im in love with mine. just a thought...

Good luck with that. I'm actually surprised that you said that most of us like it on this forum because my impression is that it is not very good. I hope it works for your needs, though.

Please don't give up again, there are excellent e-cigs on the market that do the job they are meant to do and they are less expensive too.

happy vaping :)

Thought I would follow up.

I did buy the Maxx Fusion (65 Auto). It arrived yesterday and wow. The experience is night and day compared to what I bought over 2 years ago.

I unwrapped it at 11am popped on a cart and started. Used it during lunch and afterwards. I had two batts so I was trying r4y and coffee flavors using them alternately.

At 3pm I went to the apple store and waited in line for iPad 2. I used it the entire time in line (3.5 hours).

I got home at 6:30 and I poped one of them into the charger and went to the bar for happy hour. I used the other until 8:30 when the battery finally died. So I went home at 9pm and swapped batts and came back to the bar. I used it all night.

Compared to 2 years ago when the battery would last like 45 min or maybe an hour.

This is amazing. I would definately recommend the Bloog Maxx Fusion as a starter PV for any one wanting to start vaping.

Are you talking about the maxx fusion auto batteries or are you generalizing? I've used the maxx fusion auto batteries for 2 days now and I don't have an issue with them.

Auto batts in general. I've never tried them, but they do take a bit more care and can tend to be a little more finicky. Many people like them, it's just a preference.

I will caution you though, that if you plan to refill your cartomizers make sure that they are absolutely dry and that no juice can leak out or it will kill your auto batts. When you refill, do so at night and let them sit over night to soak up the juice better. Then before using them blow through them into a paper towel to make sure no extra juice is still in there, wipe the treads off too.

Happy vaping :)

Ok just be careful how you reply. I was talking about my experience with the Bloog Maxx Fusion battery and if you have no experience with them you shouldn't call them dreaded. From what I understand the voltage regulator is better designed than the average battery. And my experience with them, although limited, is more than yours. The bias you have for them (auto batteries in general) might be confusing (to someone new here looking for specific advice) because of your experience it gives the appearance of authority.

And thanks for the advice.

Actually it wasn't Rosa that mentioned the "dreaded auto batteries". Better go back and look again.

As reported on ECF and other vaping forums (as well as my own experience) there is a much higher incidence of battery issues and failure with auto batteries than manual batteries. It's no accident that 95% of vapers on this forum use manual batteries. Auto batteries are open to the atomizer and unless you are very careful, eventually you will get liquid in the batteries, gum up the switch and kill it. Plus you have to learn to do the double inhale vaping method to heat the atomizer. Ever notice that not one of the higher end PV's use auto batteries.

But if you are happy with the autos, that's all that is important. I would suggest you try one manual battery to do a comparison test, however. The added control (no cut off like with autos) alone is what many of us like about them.
