Been lurking here for a couple weeks and decided to join a few days ago. Started smoking at 13, now 46. Tried every quit solution out there at least once. Bought a cig-alike kit a few years ago and failed. Tried again for the new year with another cig-alike of a different brand. I would puff on that thing non stop, then put it down, walk outside and fire up an analog. Started reading this forum and came to the realization that I would need a better setup if I wanted a chance at success. Found a shop semi local and decided to pay them a visit this past Monday. Walked out with one of their starter kits and a couple bottles of juice (24mg) and haven't touched an analog since. A couple days later, convinced my wife to abandon the cig-alike and bought her a starter kit as well. She smoked her last analog Friday. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this forum for the great information you provide.

Welcome, and congrats to you and your wife for doing something good for yourselves.

A lot of us had the same experience with the cig-alike kits, but some people have had good success with them. The Blu starter kit I bought worked long enough to get me to this forum, so I can't knock it. It let me know that maybe I could actually quit smoking, which I had never thought was possible before.

Like you, I got a decent starter kit and some juice and the difference was like night and day. I am now coming up on 3 weeks of not smoking cigarettes, after a 40 year pack and a half a day habit I thought I could not break! I am amazed every day that it has been this easy for me, and grateful, too, because I know some still struggle.

Congrats to you and yours!! This will probably be the best decision you have made. I know it was for me. I started the same way. Tried everything under the sun to quit with no success. I bought my first kit and some juice and haven't wanted to pick up another analog since. I can safely say this is a journey that you guys will enjoy and very soon you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. The good this is that you did it! Congrats and Welcome! You are among friends here.

Hi x and I'm just joining the welcoming party. Glad you and your wife made the decision to switch to vaping. As has been said, it is one of the best life decisions the two of you can make.

Hope you thoroughly enjoy your vaping journey. It is fantastic that you've found some gear and juice that is working for you (and your wife).

This is a great place to soak up some experience from others and to share your own experiences. The advice I was given when I started was to drink plenty of water and for equipment, get backups for my gear and then backups for my backups. I don't want something like a discharged battery or equipment failure to tempt me back to analogs, especially when I was new and the temptation could be really strong. That advice has served me successfully. I also believe that without this community and the folks here, I may have struggled more than necessary and slipped back to tobacco. So, glad you joined and I look forward to hearing more about your vaping success as your vaping world expands and grows. Namaste.
