Howdy, just getting back into vaping again after about a 6yr hiatus, back in 2012 I had got off the stinkies for a year then went out drinking on New Years 2013 and thought I could celebrate with a pack of ciggs and consumption of large amounts of alcohol and needless to say I was hooked again and back on the stinkies.

My how times have changed with eciggs in the past few years, back then ego batteries and small clearomizers were the big deal now everyone has gone to the variable wattage/voltage mods and ego batteries and such are antiquated antiques. Went to a couple of the local vape shops looking for some clearomizers for my old ego batteries and the guys acted like they didnt even know what I was talking about and looked at the display cases and they were all full of new fangled mods! I did find a couple of clearomizers at one shop but after trying them they seemed to be lacking. I went ahead and bought some juice and pulled out my old stash of clearomizers (vision V3's), cleaned them up, installed some new coils I had stashed away a couple weeks ago and tried to start getting into vaping again, worked pretty good but I still found myself smoking now and again.

About 3 or 4 yrs ago I bought a couple of those Kangertech Subox Nano & Mini Mod Kits but never could really get into them and they just wound up laying on the shelf. Pulled them back out last weekend and started playing with them and found myself getting into grove again as I seemed to get much more flavor and vapor from them than I did with the old ego setup. This weekend I went out and bought one of those new fangled Geek Vape Aegis Solo Kits and I seem to like it much better! Also got me some tobacco flavored juice and that's helping to make my cigarette urge go away also.

Next I plan to get back to making my own juice again like I was back when and I've already ordered quite a few supplies. I remember years ago I found a good buttery nipple ejuice recipe and mixed it up and it turned out delicious and that was my daily vape, even got down to zero nicotine before I went out that New Years and got hooked on Ciggs again. I plan on mixing that up again and trying some other recipes. Seems the buttery nipple I find at the vape shops and online here lately is kinda dulled down and doesn't taste as good as the stuff I used to make.

I also thought there used to be a DIY forum here on this board but I don't see it anymore!! Everything seemed to mixed up in the General vaping and ELiquid discussion forums. I remember there was a good sticky in that forum and mixing your own stuff by some woman and it gave good tips on the different brand flavors and there tastes and how to go about adding nicotine and stuff. Needless to say between this forum and other sites and youtube videos I can find all the info I need.

BTW anyone got a good Black Berry and Cream recipe? Looking for something that taste like fresh dewberries off the vine mixed with can milk and sugar like we sued to make when we were kids, man that stuff was good! Well anyhow sorry for such a long post and wish me luck getting back into the vaping world again, later!! HD

Greetings, salutations, and what are your thoughts on cucumber seeds?

DIY is here now!
DIY E-Liquid

Eta: I hear molinberry or perilium has a good black berry, but I haven't sampled it, I'd think it'd be personal with what wouldn't taste like cough syrup to you.

Hmmmm might have to look into that!! I received some Blackberry Milk by mlNikon oneshot stuff from Ecigg Express yesterday, mixed a batch up but it wasn't really what I was looking for. Also got some Berry Mix (TFA) flavoring and some Blackberry by Flavor West flavoring and a bunch of different type creams with that order but aint played with them yet, as I'm waiting for some sweeteners I ordered to come in! Also bought some Blackberry Cream Bar ejuice from the local vape shop, but it was kinda dulled down and didnt have the taste I was looking for either, that's why I'm thinking about mixing my own, thanks again!

NP. I also hear there is a Forrest fruit flavor you should try. I think its inawera...
I tried Mr salt-e blackberry, that was decent, a little flat, but Chambord like. It'd make a good mixer for low dose high watt nic salt.

Eta: cucumber flavor makes a nice Mellon rind

Welcome back! I vaped back in those days. The Subtank was a big deal, and was just recently discontinued. They were popular for a long time for a reason. The Nano is my favorite 19mm tank. I've also been using the Toptank EVODs for my e-pipe. You can get coil heads for them ranging from1.5ohms to .2ohms. The coil heads are cheap and easy to find. You can still buy parts for them, too.

I've also always liked just about anything that uses Nautilus BVC heads. There's another coil head that's inexpensive, comes in a variety of resistances, and there's a bunch of nice hitting tanks that use them. Like the Kanger OCC, this particular coil heads continued existence is assured well into the future. Both companies have current products that use these heads.

So there's a lot you can do with what you already have.

Yeah I like the nano tank, I got two of them and got juice in them right now, they vape good. One came with the nano kit and another with a subvod stick. I got plenty of spare coils for them. The Subox Mini tank always leaks out the air vents though even after changing the coil. I seen something on a youtube video adding extra cotton to the bottom of the coil though thats supposed to stop the leaking, aint tried modifying it yet though. I find it kinda odd it leaks even after swapping out the coil with the ones out of of the nano. Needless to say I'm just using one of the nano tanks on the mini and it works leak free.

I've been using subtank mini's since they came out. I never have leaks using the rba's in them. Once you get wicking figured out, they won't leak even if you drop them. I have 5 subtank minis, 2 of the toptank sections, 8 rba decks and a protank 4 with the dual coil rba deck.
Funny thing, I recently bought 2 highly recommended current gen tanks and still prefer the subtank's.
I just set one up last night with a 1.8Ω coil and old school 510 drip tip as an MTL rockin' some Freedom Juice.

Welcome back! Blackberry is trickey, reading flavor notes on elr recipes and reddit flavor reviews is helpful. I can attest that FA forest fruit is a great concentrate, pretty much a dark berry one shot that mixes well too.
FA. Thank you for reminding me. That's going in the cart.

Minis sometimes leak a bit from the air vent. Usually I just have to tighten the head a bit. I always close the vent completely before putting one in my pocket. BTW, a Mini base with a plastic bubble top (instead of the glass tank) only weighs about an ounce (as opposed to almost 2). I put one on an iJust 2, and it's a great pocket rig at about 3 oz. I recently bought a set of 7 bubble tops for Mini's, and a 5 pack of Mini bases.

I've never tried the RBA head. I don't think my shaky hands could build and wick that tiny coil. Plus, the coil heads (at least the OCC) work well, and are inexpensive.
Are you referring to the Subtank Mini-C/Aerotank Plus? I was hugely disappointed in both. However, the new SSOCC coil heads give the smoothest vape this side of the BVC. They also fit Subtanks Mini/Nano. They're also more expensive, of course.

I'm referring to the original subtank mini's. I've tried the toptank mini (same tank but the top unscrews to fill) but they're more prone to leaking when screwing the top back on. My eyes are so bad I can't even focus on the rba deck but I still manage to build on them. I haven't had a leak in years and they still have the original silicone o-rings on them. I never cared for their OCC coils much but I've never tried the SS version. The coil in this tank has been in use for over 2 months. A dry burn and rewick once a week and she's good as new.

I do prefer the flavor and vapor production from the Protank 4's dual coil rda deck (extra juice capacity helps too), but the subtank mini's are just too easy to rebuild so they see more use.

I thought you were talking about the rebuildable coil heads. They're a bit bigger than the OCC coil heads, and they have a pretty tiny coil.

I bought some of the original Subtank Minis/Nanos when they were first released--not cheap at the time. I also have a bunch of clone parts. I've tried putting Toptank tanks on some of the bases, and experienced the leaking problem as well. That's another cool thing about the bubble tops--they won't leak at seams that aren't there.

Welcome back on the wagon... good luck with it.

I had already stopped smoking 'cold turkey' before I ever heard of this thing called vaping. That was easy enough... I don't think I was addicted to nicotine despite having smoked stinkies and pipes for over 50 years.

Then I saw an ad on TV about Blu, so went in that direction with Halo G6 and 2ml mini tank gear in early 2013. I chose the manual batts instead of the auto fire batts. But they didn't get it done at all for my DLH's. After them it had been a progressive path since until about a year and a half ago when I found that mesh gear was the right gear for me.

Only picture of that first gear I have, some of of the Halo's and mini tanks.
