Hey guys,

So a couple years ago I bought and started using the 510 and everything was going well. However after a few weeks the liquid became really really weak - like basically no taste. I tried to switch atomizers, carts etc. Long story short I ended up getting a new job where the ecig became a huge pain, coupled with the fact that it wasn't completely satisfying, and I went back to analogs. I am now trying to switch back to the e-cig again (only 4 cigs today from a pack, feeling great).

Edit: I tried about 7 difference flavors from 2 different places. All were really weak especially the "dessert" flavors (chocolate, pineapple, coffee and coca cola)
Questions:

Who has the STRONGEST tasting liquids?
Can someone point me in the direction for proper maintenance again?
Where are we with the government banning these? Last I was here there was a lot of discussion about these being targeted by the "government" (read: lobbyist).

Thanks for the help guys.

Flavour is better with PG.
Vape is better with VG.
Throat hit is better with higher nic.
Maybe get mostly PG mix.
Low resistance atties give better flavour and vape but you need 3.7v batteries as your standard batteries will burn out.
Can't help with juice suppliers in USA.
FDA and MHRA (UK) are likely in the pockets of the big tobacco companies and pharmaceuticals re all this bovine splatter about banning licensing etc. e-cigs. They seem to want to be able to measure the amount of nic delivered but don't have the stats de da de da. Both have stepped back a tad and are "reviewing" the situation for the next 18 months I believe.

ps methinks your sig is telling porky pies:)

Clutter nails it here. That's the set of variables we have to work with. This is the biggest problem I have with vaping. The "Disappearing Flavor Syndrome". The longer I vape the more I run up against it. It is NOT,(as SO many people like to claim!), that my taste buds are "changing". I can still taste my food just fine. It is ONLY e-liquid that seems to become flavorless. I suspect this is why there is a huge demand for samples and swaps, liquids for sale and trade, DIY and the whole huge market for the "right" juice. The elusive..."All Day Vape" is a myth, in my opinion. There's just the one that works for now...

I have found the earlier mentioned flavorbomb to be one of most flavorful vapes I have ordered from. They are in my top 5 liquid vendors. Unfortunately even my personal favorite tasting juices from my top vendors tend to taste a little bland from time to time. Others have suggested to me to vape a really strong menthol for a bit helps to bring back the taste faster much like NicLiqs cinnamon suggestion. Also keeping hydrated Helps. Try pitting a little more water in you over the course of your day. Being even the slightest under hydrated is said to affect your ability to taste your liquid.

Now how can we help you with maintenance? What were you hoping be reminded of? Atty, liquid, unit?

Get high PG juices like 70pg/30vg is nice, and 80pg/20vg for more TH. But not so little VG that your tongue gets numb from the nicotine.

I think strong flavors are scattered across vendors. FreedomSmokeUSA Cocoa is strong. Juicy Vapors Butter Rum Caramel is strong. In tobaccos a strong aroma nutty pungent on is FreedomSMokeUSA Desert Ship.

You need to smell the vapor. Your tongue can only taste sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami (MSG). Everything else is aroma. And note - hot drinks, alcohol and sweet foods/drinks or any food flavor that sticks in your mouth can mask the flavor components of the eliquid. I find drinking ice water can help get the flavor back. I also alternate a sweet juice and a non-sweet juice so they add contrast to taste the other flavor.

And I recommend manual 510 batteries for 510 and Boge standard resistance 510 cartomizers.

Thanks for the advice guys. Ill look for the Cinnabomb and try that out. Also im currently using the 510 I bought a couple years ago as well as the liquid from a couple years ago. Its been in my fridge this whole time (I knew I didnt throw it out for a reason) and I still have 2 510 batteries and 3 atomizers - so i'm not in the market for a new one.

That's frustrating!

For some reason, there are times when I can't seem to find the flavor that will hit the "right spot". I've learned that I periodically have flavor trouble.

The ones that I go to the most when that happen are cloves and menthol (I started with them while switching from analogues). A day with it will "reset" my taste buds and I can move on to something like grapefruit or cherry :)

If all else fails, you can buy flavoring to add to your juice (Drinks For Diabetics | Homeopathic HCG Drops | Flavor Drops is an option)

From a government perspective, my understanding is that we got a reprieve when the FDA announced that it will regulate the e cigs as tobacco product. We should have a few months before they come up with legislations that will impact us. Keep an eye out for activity...

Good luck!

Your liquid may be out of date. They only have a shelf life of two years and that's only when kept cool and in the dark.

What happens when they "expire"? They definately are still giving me nicotine, been vaping all day with no bad side affects, and dont taste bad (just kind of bland, but I only have cigar and analog flavor, so im not horribly shocked). Now that I think about it however I guess im a little worried if they can cause problems.

As for flavors, last time I found a company that had a sampler pack of like 5-10 little bottles, may try to do that again.

For the past year or so I was involved in the online poker industry, which if you guys havent heard the DOJ just shut down. I was also into offroad desert racing, which every year gets more and more land taken away for us to use. Now I get to fight along side all of you against the FDA... Im pretty sure the government is purposely targeting everything I enjoy!

I'd just suggest following Dormouse' method to an extent. Get a few flavors and rotate 'em through. That's what I've been doing (although I've only been vaping for around a month - I think). So far, for me, I haven't experienced any drop in flavor. Or I just ain't payin' attention.

This is exactly what I do. It's the ONLY thing that keeps me somewhat satisfied vaping. I also keep a bag of pre-filled, (multi-flavors), V4L cartomizers and I use those on an 808 for a while. Whole different flavor game there. But I do have to switch juices a lot! There are people who vape three or more different juices, on various pv's, everyday. So there IS a reason why so many vapers are constantly seeking new juices, and saying theirs just "doesn't do it" for them anymore.

*I also notice, for me, that vaping feels like, "smoking under water". Seems like every so often I just crave a "dry" smoke! meh.

*This comment is not intended to encourage any actual, "smoking", as I am certain lung cancer, emphysema, CPOD and the like, will make your whole life "taste" pretty darn crappy!

Welcome back to the vaping world. I mostly use tasty vapor. There flavors are very strong except for blueberry. I dont reccomend the blueberry at all lol.

The government has desided to regulate e-cigs as a tobacco product. So as of right now were all still good with them. There will still be a long process all the suppliers will have to go through but until then all is still good. :)

There must be multiple thousands of straight 100% PG users and I have never heard of anyone's tongue going numb from using all PG eliquid. If it does happen it is very rare. I think these kind of comments tend to "scare" new vapers needlessly.

Thanks again for the help guys. I ordered a few flavors off jooglerjuices. They seemed to have good reviews and had 5ml bottles and cheap shipping. Id really just like to find one supplier who has "main" flavors I like and then I can randomly try out other suppliers - right now I havent found any that im really impressed with. Really hoping these jooglerjuices work, if not I think my next shot is Ms. Ts, they seem to have good reviews.

If anyone has any tips the main eliquids im looking for are a really strong, no creamer, strong, no sugar strong coffee. Did I mention I want it strong? A tasty but not TOO strong and not sweet "all day" eliquid, I always assumed this would probably be a tobacco flavor but open to suggestions. And lastly a couple dessert flavors - the most appealing would probably be chocolate, cola, or rootbeer. Not a huge fan of anything fruity, well other than fruit, but I did try 5ml of fruit punch from joogler just to atleast give something fruity a shot.

Anyways, I've been searching around in addition to reading the replies here and know there are a TON of eliquid threads, so i'll keep looking.

Thanks again for the help. This forum is definately one of the more friendly forums I frequent :)
