My latest project came about when an ECF member was kind enough to sell me this one.

It wasn't much to look at, but in 5 minutes I knew it was a diamond in the rough. After a 2 day soak, I was finally able to dissassemble it and begin the process.

....and the final result.

It's ready to get back in the game with both the logo and serial number still in tact. Everybody has their favorite, but for me; restoring one is what gives me a great deal of satisfaction and enjoyment.

Wow, did you take a picture before the soak? Great work.

It looked about the same so I didn't take one. I soak them in Dawn liquid so the only thing it does is loosen the crud. The camera flash masks a great deal because the tubes, in natural light, were black; not the dull gray in the pic.

On the next one I'll shoot a pic in natural light as soon as I get it and then a few along the way.

This one is pretty special because I really didn't think I could save the numbers/logo and I had to throw every trick I knew at it to bring it around.

Thanks for the kind words everyone; I appreciate it. The kudos go to the GGTS and it's maker. Nobody can bring back a piece of crap. It's got to be great to start with and a lesser device would be in the trash.

......on related note:
I've got one missing piece to find for my FrankenGGTS and it will be done. I took the WORST parts from WORST GGTS's and am making a GGTS/AVS out of them. Once I find the tank top/lid, FrankenGGTS will stalk the vaping community. lol I've learned something in the search; AVS tanks have two different diameters and take two different tops/lids. Something I did not realize.....

The AVSv1 had a larger diameter top cap (the bigger one, smaller cap is the same on both) it is the same cap on the AFSv2. The AVSv2 has a smaller diameter cap due to the fact it had a thicker wall on the tank.

I have an AVSv1 tank, but no top caps for it either.

I hope that I have a cap for V1 but I have for V2 for sure BR.

Para, you want me to search for V1 or V2 caps?

Imeo, I measured at the threads of the tank and it's approx. 21.5mm (it's been through a lot so the mm might be a bit off). If what I read is correct, that's a V1?
