Back to analog smoking for me!

Ej not flaming you. Ok? Just want to put in my two cents.

njoy's are a much better value than when they first came out:
$129.99 for a start up kit, $20.00 for 5 carts. Yes, still less than analogs and a one year warranty. But trust me, you'll get tired of having to mail the atomizers back and the response will not always be lightning fast. That's been my experience.

As far as the amount of money I've spent: My banner shows my stats, not those of my son and husband. They are both still smoking analogs, I am not. Also, prices for equipment and supplies have dropped since I purchased my 1st e-cig in June 08.
So it's all relative.

I wish you continued "njoy"-ment. I really do. The advantages of not smoking burning paper tubes of tobacco to ones health are immeasurable. I don't want to go back to analogs. That's why I'm voicing my displeasure with the current quality of the equipment. It can be better and if we don't say something about the quality, more and more people will go back to analogs. I don't see that as a positive at all.

Cheers

I really think this is a "luck of the draw" kind of thing. If your first experiences are good.. it is easier to stick with it. If you don't need to constantly "exchange" or buy new parts... it makes it easier not to get frustrated. While it is a pain to deal with liquid, carts, atomizers, dead batts, etc... I constantly point out to smokers that if you figure in all the time you spent...

-cleaning your car from the ashes
-buying lighters or refilling zippos
-replacing and fixing everything that gets "burned" from analogs
-cleaning ashtrays and throwing away butts
-going out to buy cigs
-time wasted standing outside smoking (often alone in the cold)
-trying to get the smoke smell out of clothes (or listening to other people complain about it)
-getting lectured about how bad smoking is for you
-going to the Dr for bronchitis or other smoking related illnesses
-cleaning up spilled ashtrays that got knocked over
and SOOO many other "requirements" for smokers... it is just a matter of learning to "replace" your habits with the new habits of dealing with vaping instead of smoking. I think that having enough cash onhand to buy all the "extra parts" so you are never "without" is a huge part of the success rate of vaping and once parts are easier to get (not out of stock.. available at local stores)... it will increase the success rate significantly.

Best of luck to you rick and give it a fair chance (2 or 3 months should be a fair amount of time to get used to new habits.... psychologically people have difficulty dealing with change... but 2-3 months is enough time to become comfortable with "new habits").

That was a good post for someone new to read Spikey......

PS .....I far preferred the old Avitar .....:evil::p:oops::)

Thanks Pete.

I think the new avatar adds "mysteriousness and anonymity" so in case I come across students or clients (now that vaping is becoming so popular) it is easier to hide my cross-identity lol... may have to take down my website link also.

I got my first ecig 3 days ago. I guess I'm lucky everything's working perfect so far.

After reading this forum for the past few weeks I did decide to make sure I purchased multiple ecigs and backups for everything in case problems do occur.

Seeing as I was spending $45/week on analogs, looking it at long term it should save money even with "breakdowns" etc. Just hope my good luck holds out.

But even without saving money, I believe the decision to switch from analogs to vaping is a good health decision. Not to mention vaping tastes alot better.

all i gotta say is..."ill put up with paying more money,to live a longer and healthier life." my weekly intake of cigs are about 7packs x $4.50 a pack (and thats a bare minimum) 31.50 a week... vs 7 cartridges (or liquid) roughly 6 bucks ...im sorry but thats putting cash back in my pocket...even if atomizers go out or batt goes out hell its still cheaper and better for you hell.

You've really got to want to quit to be successful with these. I've tried quitting many times in the past with no luck, and just the fact that it was so easy for me to quit with these makes me forgive the shortcomings. It can be very frustrating when they don't work as expected, or you can't order supplies when you need to. It takes some patience and understanding at this stage in development, and you've got to weigh your options. I've got a box of nicorette just in case both my atomizers go bad or I run out of liquid. I try to stock up when I can too because you never know how long your parts will last.

As popular as these are becoming, I'm betting that many people out there have read all the complaints and are working on new designs for these. Just give it some time :)

In £ the generic ecigs save you a bomb!!!!! Imagine you have your USB passthrough (and batteries but we will try our best not to think too much about those disasters hehe) A pack of cigarettes is £5.something by now probably, an atomiser for a weeks joy(usually more hehe) is around £7 and the e-liquid is around £20 for 2 to 3 weeks supply. Without doing complicated maths and I hate maths, thats probably cheaper!! Then for vaping outside all you need is a USB battery that can put out an amp and your in healthy smoking heaven surrounded by plooms of vapour!! Besides, the generics are as good performing and look as good as a branded cig and you even get a 30 day warranty!

You need to take into account rick's nationality, keep ordering from a far off country can be a really pain, if after waiting for 2 weeks to get spares them fail, well... you are pretty much done, now imagine have to make only small orders because otherwise your package may be seized at customs... so there is the big problem, a lot of you can just do a lot of orders because you have a supplier nearby but some of us can't do that so easy, that is a big factor.
