Sorry to hear...what was your PV set-up?
Many times a good mod can make all the difference.
Have you tried a low resistance atomizer at 3.7v?
The extra heat and flavor may help you.
Sometimes the power generated by the eGo just doesn't cut it.

Also, you may want to vape and smoke for a little while.
Try adding in some snus or other smokeless option.
For the sake of your health and your loved ones...don't give up.

Went back to Analogs. Have tried all strengths from 18mg to 36mg and nothing seems to satisify me. After 3 weeks, i'm still walking around nervous, Needing a cigarette, grumpy, not feeling good. Oh well.
Don't give in try harder.Yes it's tuff get yourself use to it just like you did with cigs.I smoked 2.5 packs a day for 20 years and made the switch you can do the same.If you make your mind up to do it!

Almighty is correct. Sometimes the right set up and the right juice can make all the difference. However, there are plenty of people on this forum who are still smoking and vaping. Some people just need to take more time than others and there isn't a single thing wrong with that. I highly encourage you to continue vaping and if you feel the need for a cigarette, then by all means smoke one. Perhaps over time you'll find yourself vaping more and smoking less and that by itself makes a huge difference!

Post your current vaping set-up and maybe we can help with some other suggestions. Include the juices you're using and the PG/VG ratios.

Hi Rusty, Many of us have been right where you are now. I know for myself that I had to supplement my e-cigarette use with nicotiene lozenges for the first couple of months.

I know that there are some members here who made the switch and their transition was seamless, but, I don't think that's the norm. I agree with Woman of Heart, smoke, but keep vaping too. Best of Luck!

Don't give up yet. I am new to vaping (about 3 weeks) and am still smoking analogs. I have cut down to under 10 a day and it's still a struggle to give them up completely. What helps me somewhat, is to take about 4 mini puffs before inhaling, breathe in the vapor through my nose and then take a drag. The best I can describe it is it's like breathing in the smoke of your cigarette. That satisfies me more than just puffing and inhaling.

I'm still using analogs (and I hate it and basically forcing myself to have one) all the time but not so many like before. I went from 1 pack per day to 2 packs per week. Sometimes all this "e-cig" thing became so annoying and frustrated: needles, carts, tanks, fillers, juices etc - all that is like a second job or a hobby but most of the people have a live outside of "e-cig" buisness. I tried most of the recommendations what I could find on this forum and spend a lot of money (265$ only in 1 month) on e-cig/e-juice but it still doesn't work up to my expectations.
But at least there are lots a nice and helpful folks on this forum ready to help or answer a question.

I smoked and vaped for a couple of months before I stopped smoking. As soon as I did that, I went crazy so began supplementing my vaping with Swedish snus. From then on I was OK, but I couldn't have done it without the snus. I still vape constantly (24 mg) but have a snus mini in at the same time and it's approaching one year with that system. I might add that I had smoked for 46 years before that and all other attempts were dismal failures. I think the mantra I discovered here of "don't count how many you smoked--count how many you DIDN'T smoke" helped a lot. Good luck.

What worked for me was NOT trying to deny myself analogs. Any time I tell myself I can't do something- whether it's eating a second piece of cake or smoking - it becomes the only thing that I think about.

The switch to vaping was easy for me, mainly because I'm married to a non-smoker and never smoked in the house or car so smoking analogs always meant going outside (frequently in the snow) or trying to find a place to get off the freeway while driving so I could get out of the car and smoke. Because of the constraints on when/where I could smoke- vaping was actually liberating.

I had the same trouble. LR stuff was just coming out when I started and to this date, never really cared for it. I tried all the suggestions, upping the nic level and the snus. Snus helped me first thing in the morning but it wasn't a habit I really wanted to pick up. I just backed down on my smokes, still had my three in the morning which is when I really relied on them to keep me sane and a couple in the evening. In between I vaped. I vaped basically where I didn't smoke, not in reverse.

Someone suggested I get a mod. They suggested a chuck. I took their advice. Went to a cartomizer because fillers and atomizers just didn't give me a high success hit every time and I was tired of the cleaning, the burnt filler and all the leaking etc. I stuck with my little 510's while waiting for my order to be made and shipped. Got them, couldn't believe the difference. Still had my morning cigs, but now was down to about three a day instead of ten. I got brave, ordered bats and started vaping at six volts, gave up the cigs completely. Had a few small hurdles to get over that one morning smoke with my coffee but it wasn't nearly as bad and I haven't looked back since.

Had a co-worker who smoked three packs a day. Upon my info, she picked up a 510 kit and quit instantly. She started to really want to go back to smoking. Got to the point where she was going to cave. I let her try my device at six volts, (prior she always said she liked her little 510 and I don't think she liked the look of the big mod) She took a hit, looked at me and said, "I want what you got" I had several of these so I sold her that one on and got her the batts and charger and she's been great ever since and her massive cig craving is almost gone.

A year latter, I still get a desire for one. Even have gone so far as to pick one up. The hit of the cig is nothing compared to the hit off my chuck and I swear that is what has kept me successful.

It isn't a route for everyone but for some reason, this is what worked well for me. I think in part because I never directly inhaled my cigs, rather took that big long draw and then inhaled. I vape the same way, and the higher voltage unit gives me a big giant draw with little effort and enough vapor to get the secondary inhale that will still satisfy my lungs and nic need. And yes, I still vape at 12-18mg...I amped up to 24 this winter and am now working myself back down to the 12-24 range.

Not sure if this helps or not. But it really worked for me and had I not gone the high voltage route, I know deep down that I'd be back on the 'analogs' We all might be addicted to the nic and chemicals from smoking but the habit of smoking is perhaps a bit more individual when it comes to 'missing' something.

Really, it doesn't matter if you smoke too as long as you don't stop vaping. Think of vaping as a medicine to cure smoking, you have to keep doing it even if you think it's not working -- regardless of wether you are still smoking or not -- keep on vaping and eventually your smoking will slow down and your vaping will pick up.
How long did it take you to stop smoking? - View Poll Results

Almost 20% of ECF members polled still smoke on occasion but drastically reduced their cigarette consumption by using e-cigs. Even a reduction would be great, right?

I quite 3 weeks ago and still have times where I think I Need a cigarette. I think my brain is programed to think that after smoking for around 27 years. Think about it. 27 years of doing something just can't be stopped in a day or a week or a month for some. the addiction to nicotine is only a small part of our addiction to smoking. Otherwise we would have all slapped on a patch and been done with it years ago. :) At least I would have.

If you want to quit analogs, my only advice is to keep vaping and cut back on the analogs until you find you don't need them anymore. Also find new and different ways to deal with the stressful situations we will all encounter. I think that is important for anyone no matter how they quit.

Rusty...you're only 2 hours away from me, but I wish you were closer...I'd come over and see what's going on in person. It could also be that you're having a reaction to too much nic? Before you give up completely, please tell us more info. If there is any way I can help you, or if you maybe need a different juice or something, I could send/share with you. There are so many variables! As Rosa asked, please share a little more of what your routine is like...it could be something really simple, so don't give up on yourself, you family, your health...this IS doable! And like everyone has said...we all kept smoking for a period of time. No biggie.

+1 on this, I used the nic gum for the first month along with vaping (and bumming a couple cigs),
it took that long to figure out how to draw on my e-cig, how to fill and not overfill, what wattage
and flavor worked for me. The gum was a crutch until I learned how to use my setup.

Just a +1 for everyone who notes that it's not necessarily a matter of resolving to quit cigarettes. After 14 mos, I still have 4-5 a day-- down from 20+-- and I vape a lot. I think if I approached it as an "either/or" thing and got fed up with vaping, I'd be back up to my old level or more in no time. What I'm doing now has kept me at equilibrium and feeling physically a lot better for months.

Usually what I do is having one analog and than vaping until I really tired ,my jaw is getting hurt and start getting a nasty feeling in my mouth and throat. After that I have another one.
So it takes about 2-4 analogs per day.

Why is your jaw hurting? What kind of e-cig do you have? Automatic?
