Anyone using
istick pico?
What brand cells are most reliable?
I can see buying clones or copies might be a problem.
I haven't heard much about the Istick Pico. Istick became a name brand when they came out with their 20 or 30 watt devices and have been coming out with new devices ever since. However, it seems by skipping through the thread that you tend to take good care of your devices. For that reason, I'd recommend getting something that takes a replaceable 18650... for the sole reason that if your battery dies, you can replace the battery instead of the whole device. With the Istick Pico, it has a built in battery, so when it dies, you replace the whole unit.
18650 batteries retail for approximately $10 each for a good one. They originally weren't designed for end user use, since ALL lithium ion batteries can vent if mis-used. 18650's are used in battery "packs" like drills, laptops, electric cars, etc. They are usually "cells" in a larger battery. People have turned them into individual use in flashlights, ecigs, and other devices. I'd recommend getting some known good brands that have been proven safe for individual use, and they won't overheat if over used. I like the Samsung 18650-25R and the LG HE4 batteries.
As far as what wattage device, being a direct lung inhaler but not necessarily a cloud chaser, anything that can handle 50 watts is good for me. There are plenty of single battery 80 watt devices that will work fine for direct lung inhales. If you get a dual battery mod, your battery will last longer, but you have to "marry" the batteries, and it's highly recommended you charge the batteries in a seperate charger. There are so many to choose from. for my favorite devices, I like a Cloupor mini 50w (not the 30w one though) and for dual battery I like the Joytech cuboid.
As far as clones go.... for batteries and devices, I'd probably stay away. For mech mods and atomizers, I'd say it depends on the clones... since some clones are actualy better than the original, and some are worse. Whatever you get, read
reviews on the device before you buy.
