Backwoods Brew Backo fans - similar alternative at VaporGods

BWB Backo is the juice that finally allowed me to cut the cigarette cord for good. My all-day vape. Like smoke, Backo has very little "taste" IMO -- just like cigarette smoke -- and zero aftertaste. I had sampled many tobacco juices and they all tasted like butter-marinated nuts. Foul. I had never tasted anything like Backo and fell in love.

I recently picked up some clearos from VaporGods, b/c they were (are) offereing free juice samples with purchase. I got their Tobacco flavor and I have to say it's the closest to Backo that I've tasted.

I don't plan to switch from BWB anytime soon -- I just purchased $150 of juice from them!. But I do plan to do a "blind" taste test to see if I can really tell the difference. Backo seems to definitely have a better throat hit than VaporGods Tobacco, even though I ordered the minimum 20% VG.

But for those more budget-minded, or don't have time for Backo to steep, this seems to be a good alternative to me.

Thanks for the information, ColKurtz. I am also a fan of BWB Backo, and have used it (along with BWB Espresso) almost exclusively for @ eight months. However, I now realize that I need alternatives waiting in the wings. It's not pleasant trying to find a substitute when you've run out of your tried-and-true, and it's unavailable for a time. That could actually turn into "forever," as many of the vendors who were around when I first started vaping are now out of business. Yikes.

I will watch for your "blind" taste test.

So, I did my blind taste test. Unfortunately, it appears this isn't as good an alternative to Backo as I thought. The flavor is almost identical, which I do like. However, the VaporGods Tobacco has almost zero throat hit. I used both on smoktech dual-coil cartos on the same freshly charged standard ego. Even loaded up a 2nd dual coil with the Tobacco in case the first one was a dud. Same... zero throat hit. Tried hooking up the tobacco to VV ego passthru and run it at 3.7, but I guess that was too much as it bumped it back down to 3.2 automatically.

One difference is that my Backo is 24mg and the Tobacco is 18, but I seriously doubt it would make that much of a difference. There's just almost no throat throat hit. Maybe they sent me the 20% PG instead of 20% VG. I did finally get in my DIY supplies... might try adding some more PG, maybe some extra nicotine, to see if that helps. Since the flavor is minimial -- again which I like -- hopefully it won't change the taste too much.

Thanks for posting your test, ColKurtz. It answers my questions. I guess I will just have to continue my search for alternatives, or just widen my taste preferences....Oh no!
