After hearing many great things about both Don and his liquids I decided to give it a try. First I'd like to review service. Don answered my email within 15 minutes and shipped my liquids within hours and was generally pleasant and helpful, if his liquids tasted middle of the road I'd still buy from him because at least I'd know who was getting my hard earned money. He's a standup guy.
First a few caveats, I blew out my atomizer between every flavor to be sure I was getting the full experience, I'm using a LR 901 on a Protege, and all of my juices are 18mg.
Now for the review:
Menthol Medium- The smell of it is mild and slightly sweet not giving away anything about it's flavor. I put 3 drops in my atty and took a good puff, the flavor was in a word incredible. A true menthol flavor, I've tried others and they all taste like mint, most of them like mint gum. Don's menthol tastes EXACTLY like a menthol analog, not similar, but the same. The throat hit is solid without feeling like I'm tearing the flesh out of my throat. The vapor is incredible, and the exhale is where the flavor really shines.
Applewood- The smell is crisp and clean, sweet but not too sweet. The flavor on this juice is excellent, it doesn't blow you away, but it's not a mild flavor either. There is a lot of body to the flavor as though nothing is missing from the flavor profile. Sweet, earthy, juicy with just a touch of woodiness. I could easily vape this all day every day for months and not get sick of it. Throat hit on this one is lighter than the others which for me is just fine because I'm not a throat hit person. Vapor production is again excellent and whereas the sweetness comes out in the inhale, the woodiness comes out in the exhale.
RY4- This one was the biggest surprise of the lot. I am a HUGE fan of RY4, or should say I was until today. I have had many many versions of RY4 and have enjoyed most of them. This doesn't taste strictly like RY4, rather it seems to me what RY4 should actually taste like. The tobacco in this is very strong, almost like a cigar strong but without the nastier flavors I think a cigar has, more like a cigar if you smell it than if you smoke it. In other words it's a very high quality tobacco taste. It has a complex body to it, I can't pin down the flavors, but it makes it a much more enjoyable experience. The throat hit on this is moderate, more akin to smoking an analog. The vapor on this is once again incredible and full of flavor.
Overall- If the e-liquid industry were the size and power of the tobacco industry every other company in it would want to destroy Don as quickly as possible because he puts the lie to all the other companies I've purchased liquid from. It might not be for everybody, but for those of us who want a more sophisticated and luxurious vaping experience there are literally no competitors. If your'e tired of using your imagination while tasting flavors, you owe it to yourself to purchase from Don.
