I run LR510's and LR306's on my eGo all the time!

That would indeed be correct. Yes we use them on the eGo, but no we shouldn't. The 650mAh bat delivers 0.65A current and a 1.5 LR atty draws 2A at 3.1V more than 3 times what the battery is capable of delivering. The 900mAh batt would be a marginally better choice. The minimum battery to be used for LR applications is a 14500 IMR batt which has a current rating of 4A

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ikenvape/118964-switcheds-battery-faq.htmlThe battery can handle it but is stressed in doing so = shorter overall battery life e.g it will die at 20 vs 60

Hope I'm not hijacking the thread... seems it's been hijacked already :) My eGo batteries which I had used for three months mainly with normal 510 atomizers and cartomizers would charge 2.5 hours from a computer USB (and 5-6 hours from USB-to-AC, not that it's relevant). After three days of dripping with a LR 510 atomizer it now takes 8-10 hours to charge from USB! Did I damage them? The charge still holds for 2/3 of a day but it takes painfully long to charge. Old 510 batts came handy again. Switched, should I hurry ordering new eGo batteries now? Thanks for any advice.

Well i'll be damned.

Well if it is true that you kill your batts with LR atties then at least some suppliers are not being honest with us... with all that hype over LR.

Something that needs to be pointed out is that vendors sell stuff. There are some reputable vendors out there, and then ...

In order to explain what is happening, we got to go back to the LR's roots, Spring Vapefest where the LR atty was introduced to the public. It has a resistance of 1.618Ohm (so it is said???) and was recommended to be used with HD batteries of 400mAh or higher. What folks took away from that was the mAh rating and left the HD part out of the equation, myself included (because of the hype and misinformation). Mea Culpa!

Since, I have come to a better understanding wrt what is going on with batts etc... although the eGo has a 650mAh rating, it is not a HD (high drain) battery nor is the 900 and even the 1300mAh batts. What is needed is LiMn (Lithium manganese) or IMR which were specifically designed for large demand applications e.g. power tools or in our case vaping

Wrt eGo batteries, at $20+ a pop, why use a proprietary batt when one could use a 14500 IMR batt in a simple box mod at a fraction of the cost for LR vaping. A 14500 600mAh costs $7.50 at lighthound and will run cicrcles around the eGo batt.

I know everyone is doing it, and many are recommending it, but I don't and wont.

well said! after the LR 306 atty, I can't even go back to the LR 510's on the eGo. Although I'm sure using the LR 306 attys are killing my batteries faster too. I got some HV 510 attys coming in a week or two for the box mod and the Ali'i. Iken's carto's work really nice on the boxmod though too, but I still get the occasional filler burnt taste with them :(

So a regular 510 should be fine? Sorry but I'm very new to this and I suck with electricity. Should I buy some HV atties?

regular 510 atty should be fine on your eGo. If you think you'll eventually go HV, then ya get HV atties for sure... I'm basically saving my 510 LR atties for emergencies only now
