I've mixed the same Vanilla recipe 4 times successfully, last night I mixed a 30 ml batch and it was horrible! It was like I'd stuck my tongue to a perfume bottle, bitter, flowery and chemical tasting! I poured the recipe down the drain thinking I'd made a BIG mistake somewhere and mixed it again... the same thing!

I then thought about what could be different and the only thing it was is that I'd opened a new bottle of Lorann's Bavarian Cream! I opened it and smelled and that is what it is!

I have two brand new 30 ml bottles of Bavarian Cream that is too chemically, same lot number! Is there a fix for this or is it just bad?

    Give 'em a call.

The Lorann factory is about two miles from my house and they're really nice people - they have a small storefront in their factory office and the receptionist has to drop what she's doing to sell me stuff fairly often :)

edit: Last time I was in there I told them what I was doing with their flavors, showed them my PV and they told me if I gave them my tax ID number they'd save me some money on their already inexpensive flavorings - they don't charge sales tax anyway :)

I explained that I was just a hobbyist and mixed this stuff up on my dining room table which they thought was pretty cool.

Thanks! Was yours all bitter and like you'd drank a swig of perfume? LOL

I don't really know how to describe it. It had an extremely unpleasant aftertaste. It literally made me gag.

Now, mine is a 1 dram size, so it may have a different Lot # system. It's labeled as B7, and I noticed all the 1 dram sizes that I have only have [edit] one or two numbers and a letter.

Out of curiosity I opened a bottle of Cheesecake that I had, also a 30 ml bottle, and it smells fine. Grrrr and I used Bavarian Cream in a lot of stuff, now I'll be afraid to order more.

No telling how long One Stop had theirs sitting on the shelf, but I bought some from the factory three weeks ago and it's fine. I bought a couple of 1 dram bottles because I don't use much, though.

I called Loranns and they said they had not had any complaints but she took the lot number and said she would look into it and and call me back.

Surely One Stop wouldn't keep stuff on the shelf for a very long time and risk it going bad knowing what it's used for? PLUS the money I've wasted making up 60ml of juice with it!!

Like I said I'm just really afraid to order more if what I had the first time wasn't what it typically is. I do know that my daughter doesn't like it so maybe my first batch was what was off! LOL

You can order the stuff directly from Lorann - I think they charge $8 flat rate shipping but their prices are gonna be better than anywhere else. If you're ordering more than a couple bottles of flavoring maybe the price difference will make up for part of the more expensive shipping ;)

    Keep us posted, please?

edit: Oops. One Stop is cheaper than the Lorann factory. Lorann charges $1.40 for a 1-dram bottle and One Stop charges $1.10.

I'll keep you posted and will surely order straight from Loranns from now on. What's a few pennies saved if you risk having 60ml that is bad AND ruined nic/pg/vg and other flavorings too. :(

I'm going to go ahead and order more Bavarian Cream today because obviously I need some! LOL

I've got the 1oz bottle Lot: R0317 yup it is bad. Order from Loran Canada. My other bottle ordered from same place Q0501 = OK

Maybe you can call them also and let them know that your bottle, from the same Lot, is also bad. The lady told me they had NOT had any complaints.

Since this just is a bad Lot I can't even ask the place who sold it to me to replace it... just chalk it up as a loss and order more. I think I've learned not to order more than one bottle at a time though to try not to get two from one Lot. LOL

Thanks so much for letting me know you have a bottle of it also so I can stop worrying about ordering more.
