Ok, here we go. To begin with I've been a smoker for about 20 years and have been a vapor for only 2 months, that's long enough to decide that I like vaping more than smoking cigarettes. I'm looking for something that can deliver that elusive perfumey hit you sometimes get from tobacco but with everytime you take a puff. Now for the technical problems, I've recently purchased 2 eGo batteries from 2 different places on Ebay and they have both broken at the place were the battery body meets the threaded top. One is an eGo-t 1100mah and the other is an eGo C Twist 1300mah. I've read through the battery issues part of the forums enough to know that doesn't seem to be a common problem, why me? It's not like I've been throwing them a brick wall or anything, simply trying to twist off my Kanger mini protank 3 is enough to break apart these pieces of junk held together by a tiny bit of superglue. They should be held in place by set screws or indentations in the metal, I'm not sure if they are counterfeit or if this is how the real eGo company somewhere in China has recently decided on making their batteries. I've got some soldering skills but the wires and circuits are just too tiny to mess with and I lost the button to the twist, it's still under the 30 day warranty but I've used it and threw away the packaging etc etc... My main question is what kind of battery should I be looking into getting that's around the $20 dollar price point- 510 thread that isn't a piece of junk? The vision spinner looks like an option but it's hard to tell if it will fall apart or not.

Sorry you are having trouble with the batteries. Could be some knock off batteries as they are rampant in the market place and more so on the bay. Just a thought, maybe step up to the MVP 2.0 which can usually be found for around 40 bucks. The thing will last for a day or two on one charge and is built like a brick(really, even looks like a brick). They are not a bad investment and will save you some frustration.

Have you ever considered buying an 18650 and a mod to put it in? We used to use the Pen style batteries but jumped ship after using the larger Mah 18650's. I just bought (2) VCT5's from eBay for $19 and have been enjoying them since they arrived.
We actually save money since we don't have to keep buying them due to them breaking frequently.

I have two Ego C-twists that I still carry (now mostly as a backup rig) but they've both been everywhere from my back pocket to my backpack to the center console of my car, and other than a few dings and scratches, they're still mechanically solid. I'm wondering (as the other posters) whether these may be knockoffs?

It sounds as if you made the transition to vaping and most likely won't go back to smoking the nasty's, congrats. Innokin has the VV version 2. The battery is 1100mah battery that is a pass through, smoke and charge at the same time. At my brick & mortar they run for about $30 to $40 or the MVP version 2, 2600mah battery that can be used to charge other devices like a cell phone, etc, also a pass through. The MVP cost a little more but are well worth it. I've been vaping for about a year & I still use both of them. I would try either one.

The more I look into this the more I feel like an idiot, oh well, you live and you learn. Yes I do believe I ordered unbranded generic knockoffs from ye ol' fleabay. It was silly of me to think I would get decent build quality from some e-tailer that sells one thousand items a minute. It's hard to choose which one to buy when you have a million multi colored batteries to choose from, some pictures and the usual description. I still have not quite made up my mind about the exact battery I should get but it won't be through the same route, their are online vape shops and the actual companies to choose from. Some things to note about these poorly made batteries, they have no silk screened emblem stamped on the bottom and the 1300mah VV I have has a tapered shoulder at the top right at were it broke off. I hope this helps other people avoid the mistakes I've made and speaking of which blus are for people that like blinky, warm fingers.

BadBat, your mistake was buying from Ebay.

Purchase from reputable vendors listed in the ECF Supplier's Forum at the bottom of the Forum link. Places like AltSmoke, Discount Vapors, My Vapor Store among others sell quality name-brand products which will be reliable and dependable, and who back the products that they sell.

Well, i'm not going to try to "upsell" you to anything different. To answer your question simply i'll just say that I can attest to the fact that a genuine vision spinner is a good battery. They are affordable, built well, have decent battery life, and are adjustable. If you're looking for a battery that doesn't require a separate mod around it, and just simply a 510 threaded battery, the spinner is a good choice.

But on a side note, I will tell you that eventually.. you'll want more. :p

I too would have no hesitation recommending a genuine Vision Spinner or a genuine Joyetech Twist. They are both good quality products. I bought 2 spinners about a year ago, and although I have moved on to other things, they were all I used for the first couple of months and I had no issues with them at all. They still hold a good charge and perform flawlessly. I will fire them up every now and then just to put them through a charge / discharge cycle.

One of the most important things is not to drop them - they are fragile as are most electronic items. If you drop them, even once, there is a chance you will break a wire or damage the circuit board. Genuine products or not, dropping them is eventually going to kill them.

Also, make sure you keep the center post and threads free from any juice spills.

They are available for between $20-25 from most of the vendors that Bad listed above. I bought mine from MyVaporStore. They might be a few dollars more than most, but they do ship super-fast, and offer great customer service.

I hope y'all weren't thinking I was looking at this thread all day, I have a tendency to fall asleep at the wheel (insert worried open mouth emoticon here) still learning how to work this forum. Fell asleep woke up went to work who's got time to mess with tabs the usual. Anyway I just ordered a 1300mah vision spinner straight from MVS so crisis averted for now.

I feel the OP's pain with the poorly built batts.

My answer was to do an MVP 2.0 (Mt Baker Vapor -10% + 2 bottles of awesome juice = $44 net price/value), and just the other day the iTaste vv 3.0 for the smaller form factor, but with the excellent features of the mvp (101vape.com for <$30 net).

One of the most important criteria was going with the Innokin products for the reputation of quality products

Adding in great features & prices, it was win-win-win :)

One additional thing that may help (even with a cheap knockoff ego you shouldnt break 2 at the 510 connection that fast ) make sure you are only screwing on your topper *just* tight enough to not wobble basically. My OH had a tendency to screw them together as if he were bolting himself into a safety harness - that will destroy any battery or mod in a flash.

Hope the Spinner treats you wonderfully :)

Seems the OP is back in good shape but I agree with you , the MVP is fantastic , I was going to go with a Spinner but everyone seemed to love the MVP so I tried it and they were right , thing seems to last and last and last .

A correction on your vv3 price , last time I checked 101 had it for $25.00 and the reviews for that one are nearly as good as the MVP's , five star across the board.

101 will also have it at your door step before you even get off the phone , well almost , I live on the N.C coast ( native NJ guy though) and they are in Cali and I had it in two and a half days with standard shipping.
