Well my wife and some gf's go out once a week and play bingo at the legion and most of them vape. Well this has been going on for a few months with no problems untill last night some guy who works there or is on the board or whatever was really rude and nasty with them about there e cigs. He told them they couldnt do it there and was very rude about it, but said if it was municipal it was ok. My wife tried to explain that it was just vapor and nothing harmfull to anyone but he was a ..... and didnt want to hear it.

Are there written rules concerning using e-cigarettes at the legion? Anyone of higher authority than this guy that you can talk to? What about local or state laws? More and more local and regional govenments are restricting the use. Businesses and organizations are free to set their own policies concerning e-cig usage.

You all may have to find another bingo hall, unfortunately. Sucks.

Next time it happens have them all say in unison..

"Come at me bro"

Ya she is calling the commisioner monday to complain. Funny thing she been in the hospital 2 times since we started and no one there says a word about it other than good job for quitting the real cigs.

As I started to read this I thought u were going in the direction of "Funny thing she been in the hospital 2 times since....to check to see how this Very rude and nasty guy was coping with his 2 black eyes, broken collar bone and sore shin" my bad I shouldn't jump to conclusions. Lol

Just so u know no person or animals were harmed in the making of this story.

There's only been one time so far where someone looked at me funny. I just stared back at him and said "Don't worry, at most you'll probably smell a sweet fragrance. Nothing more." And he turned around and went on with his day. I have yet to find someone that was rude.

I've heard of people coughing while someone is vaping. I can't wait for the day that happens to me because as rude as it might be, I swear I will laugh non-stop.

This kind of thing happens because people are uninformed. I know at the restaurant I work at, e-cigs are against company policy because they mimic the act of smoking, or may cause others to think that real smoking is permitted in the building. My manager knows I vape, I don't do it on the clock and never in the restaurant(unless no guests are there), but after having me explain the whole thing to her, she really doesn't think they should be banned.

I always try to tell new employees to be calm and respectful if they have to tell a guest to stop vaping (I won't say anything if *I* see it unless forced to...), because there is nothing worse than someone rudely telling you to quit smoking inside when you are vaping. It's worse when they won't listen to a reasonable explanation. I suggest talking to upper management, but it may be a company policy not just that particular bingo hall. But do report him for being rude to a customer because that's no way to do his job.

Of course, there's the argument that it's not smoke, it's not illegal (in some places) and I have a right to vape whenever/wherever I want to.

Well it's not illegal to fart, curse or scratch my...eh...whatever, either. But, as an adult I know when and where to "exercise my rights".

It ain't as big a deal as we choose to make it.

This is why I only vape in smoking areas. I rather avoid a confrontation. I have used e-cig in the hospital with no problems. The nurse said as long as I don't smell smoke you are Ok.

It only takes one person to start a revolution.

But only vaping with smokers will reenforce the perception that vaping and smoking are the same and that vaping is dangerous to others. Plus I no longer want to be around analog smoke. If we vape openly BUT respectfully in non-smoking areas and be prepared to educate others, we will better advance the fact that vaping is safe for others to be around. Vapers are the only ones who can dispell the lies and myths about vaping.
