I bought a 30ml bottle of Tribeca about 4 days ago, I wasn't crazy about it the first day so I let it steep with the lid off, tasted it the next day and it was a lot better and just got better as the days went by, last night I started tasting a burnt taste, HORRIBLE! I changed the atty on my Protank 2 mini (even though that was only 5 days old and I'm VERY new to this, haven't been vaping a lot, like a full tank lasts me 2 days!) and tried it again, wasn't bad, still had burnt taste in my mouth though so I couldn't really tell. Tried it again this morning, the burnt taste is back, tried a different tank, STILL taste the burnt flavor!! Is this possible?!?! Is my juice bad? It says 'best by May 2015'!

Go figure it was a user error! I went to my local vape shop (had to go by anyway bc the guy had a juice he wanted me to try) and had him look at my tank, he said my coils are really dry and lubed them up for me lol (not really sure what else to call it). He also said I have to 'prime' it sometimes (suck on it without pushing the button so the juice is flowing to the coil). I'm so glad a found such a great B&M store to go to! These people really seem to know their stuff! You guys do too and everyone has been such a HUGE help, but it is nice when you all can't SEE what's going on to have a place I can go and not feel like an idiot when it's MY fault.

There is a learning curve to vaping, I still find out new things everyday myself. Enjoy your Tribeca, if nothing else...you are great at picking juices!!!

lol, well apparently I just learned something else! I was vaping on my Tribeca again and guess what, same nasty metallic taste so I called the store back and told them about it, he told me to change my atty's to the 2.2 that he sold me (was using 2.5 that came with my tanks), changed the atty's on both, smelled on of my tanks and it was horrible, the same taste I was tasting, I smelled in the tank AND the entire bottle of Tribeca! I called again and told him, he said that I have 'vape stone?' I think is what he called it, or something like it anyway. He said that sometimes when people use only ONE juice and don't use anything else that the juice will either no longer have a flavor or will taste really bad and that I should vape something else for a little bit and go back to it in time. I thought that sounded pretty crazy, so I let my mom taste it, see if she thought it tasted the same to her as it did when she tried it before and she said yes, so I had her do it again (lol, poor thing, it's a little sweet for her taste) and she said she tasted vanilla, VANILLA, I was like 'you don't taste METAL???' and she said no, it tasted fine. So apparently I have to find another favorite! I don't know if it's because I'm so new, it's been 3 days since I've had an analog.

Vaper's tongue - Sadly, I cannot taste vanillas and custards after a day or two of exclusive vaping. I learned to switch up flavors throughout the day.

That sucks! I like SWEETS, I'm picky as hell and I'm having the hardest time finding flavors that I actually like! This is hard! lol

I have heard that some people are having problems with Kanger replacement coils. You might want to look into rebuilding your own coils with cotton, it has a much better flavor that silica.

Good Luck!!!:toast:

Yea, I'm starting to think it's the metal because I don't taste it with my plastic tank! And the taste didn't start until I started using it more and uping the voltage from 3.8-4 to 4.2-4.4 so I'm going to get an evod tank and see if that helps. My plastic tank and the protank are all using the same coils so I'm not sure if it's a coil thing, I think I'm just tasting the metal, maybe the drip tip... Idk.

I am getting so frustrated! I went out and bought new drip tips, thought that fixed the problem. Half way home I'm tasting it again, go to another vape shop (closer to my house) and got an evod to see if it's the metal from the tank. I'm starting to think it's just me! Idk if I'm crazy or what but this is getting ridiculous!

I can't speak to the Tribeca specifically, but I can tell you I will never *EVER* order from Halo again.

Placed an order for Southern Classic last week, 2nd day priority. Received it Monday, it was wrong, they shipped me a $2 CE4 Clearomizer instead. Called the customer service number and was told I'd get a call back within the hour. No call ever came. Got an email the next day saying they were re-shipping the order. It's now Friday. Replacement order still not received, USPS website doesn't show it was ever actually shipped. Sent them an email last night trying to follow up... still no reply from them. Called them a few minutes ago. They're now claiming they sent it regular mail.

WHY would you send it regular mail when 1. I paid for 2nd day and 2. You're the ones who messed up the order the first time?
Great first impression, they completely blew it. Never again.

Every vendor does that when they mess up. I've heard it 1000000 thousand times. "I paid for 2nd day and they sent me the wrong X! Then they had the nerve to send the replacement economy mail!" lol. Thats what we have to deal with when we buy from online instead of buying from a brick and mortar. We're so used to thinking vendors should be perfect. 20-30 years ago, people fought against rich men coming into their town to build big shopping malls with big name stores like macys and sears. They didn't want this impersonal shopping experience ruining the small businesses and small shops that were owned by their friends & family. Now our government agents would rather have a single walmart in the center of town and a bunch of abandoned buildings where small businesses once stood. Now, the internet e-commerce world is blooming & people don't even have to go out of their house for 90% of what they buy. You don't even meet the guy that packs your order. He has no investment in you, not emotionally, nothing. I personally write my username in the comments section of every single order I make. & next to my ECF username I say "I will be reviewing the products! Can't wait!" & I just hope that that is enough for them to take an interest in my order. I have received the wrong product a few times.

One vendor gave me a $30 giftcard for forgetting one tiny 3ml bottle of flavoring. Another vendor refused to even e-mail me back after they had sent me an $18 A7 atomizer instead of the $30 A8 genesis tank that I had ordered. They never responded to any of my e-mails when I tried to let them know that they messed up. This vendor was VaporBank.com I'll never order from them again.

Halo was one of the first vendors that I ordered from when I began my search for a true tobacco flavor. Almost all of their tobacco juice tasted like cologne to me, and I never understood they hype. However I did like "Tribeca", in fact I also bought a 30 ml bottle last week from them (all I ordered from them) and I'm vaping it right now. I love it. To me it has a primary taste of American Black Walnut, sweet, but good black wanuts are. I love black wanut!
I keep Tribeca in my collection. (not as a tobacco flavor)
But my bottle is fine now, but it was VERY FRESH when I first opened it.

Well I did FINALLY figure out my issue and it was NOT my tank OR the Tribeca! Apparently the problem was ME lol. I had to switch to a carto tank because I was drying out the wicks on my Protank. I was told no one has ever said it tasted like metal, but what was happening was I was vaping too hard on it and not allowing enough time for the wicks to soak up enough juice in between. I vape like I smoke because I am just switching from analogs so I do what's natural for me. They told me how to prime the tank and how to add the juice directly onto the wicks themselves, but that still wasn't working for me. I switched to the carto tanks and it's like night and day, no more metal taste, no more dry vape... I can't even begin to explain how happy I am that we (me and the guys at my local vape shop) figured it out when we did because I was literally on the verge of giving up because NO ONE else could taste what I was tasting!
