When i first received the nebula it was great.. then i read about burning carts and took apart a new one i only took 5 drags off of and still tasted great..after i got it apart it was indeed burned and burning the poisonus polyfil material..so i chalked it up as a loss and ordered 901 atomizers to use w/ the nebula batteries i have.

Today i tried using one of my batteries and it was dead, the light would come on but no vapor.. the contacts are clean, and i never got any juice in the battery. i carefully sawed the battery apart and found the crappy solder connections came off. The battery still has volts though. So now im basically ripped off for 80 dollars that should have been spent on a better product, i blame myself for not researching this forum more than i did.. i some how seemed to have over looked the burning cartomizers thread.

Anyone thinking about ordering the nebula or any Kr8081 for the ease of the carts, think again..buying atomizers is far cheaper as they last many times longer than cartomizers....This is really crap because ive only had it a week, and might have to smoke coffin nails until i buy a new PV.

I am using a penstyle 901 I think. The writing on it calls it "the Vapor." the Atomizers have a lifetime warrantee. I ordered a second atomizer so that JUST-IN-CASE I need to set it replaced I have another to use. My second on came DOA. That's not a problem. I will return it for another but my original one just started giving me a sort of burnt taste. When remove the cart after taking a drag... a big puff of vapor (or is it smoke?) escapes and I can sort of hear it sizzle. . . Dees it need to be cleaned? or should I send that one In for repair when I return the other one? I wouldn't be stranded! In fact I have TOO MANY back ups! Thanks, Diane

I'm really sorry you are bummed out, and hope you're feeling better by now.

I have been using the nebula and VK etc, for months now.
I have noticed differences in the cartomizers.
Some of the "stuffing" whatever you want to call it is much higher in the cart than other.

I can't understand how a cart still soaked with juice has black burned holes.

Makes no sense.
It's impossible.
A wet cart can't burn.
End of story.

Based on its remarkable moisture retention, (and the way that it smells and burns when subjected to the flame of a lighter), I would say that the atomizer blanket is made of some sort of natural cellulose. Probably not much different than the cellulose found in tobacco leaves. Of course, the analog smoker will inhale hundreds of times more of the bi-products of burning cellulose than a Nebula user ever will.

As for the polyfil that surrounds the atomizer blanket, the atomizer coil never touches it. Nonetheless, the heat from the coil can cause the polyfil to melt into itself at the burn point of the atomizer blanket; leaving a hole or cavity that makes it look like it had burned.
