Hi, everybody... I'm a new member at this forum. I am familiar with DIY e-liquids, and I wanna make my own recipes. I bought a 100 mg VG nBase in a 100 ml bottle and 10 different e-cig flavours in 20 ml. bottles each. I tried to make a couple of samples first, but I got a bad smell like perfume or gasoline in the liquid I mixed. I checked the smell of nbase and flavours one by one. Some flavours smell very thick, smell like perfume, some smell good. And the nbase... It smells like gasoline or something like that. I wanna know if it's normal or not... How does a good and real nbase smell? Have I bought a fake nbase and fake flavours or am I doing anything wrong? If it's normal, what should I do to get the right and correct result? Please help me... Thanks...

Not normal. Nic base has a very slight odor...but gasoline isn't it.

Definitely something is wrong. I would definitely hesitate before considering vaping that. Trash it. Nic has a very faint scent.
buy nic from the stores you see on this forum. Some/many are completely tasteless and odorless.

Just where did you purchase your VG nic base from? It should not smell like AttyPops said. If you try and vape 100% VG liquid without flavoring, it should also not have a bad taste or smell. If it does, I would not use it.
That being said, finding the flavors that you enjoy is an experiment in itself. A lot of the flavorings need to be mixed in certain amounts to produce a quality taste. It all depends on how concentrated they are. As an example, I have an Orange concentrate from TFA. I only need one drop in 10 ML to obtain a nice fresh orange flavor. Any more and it is very strong.

I could understand some of the flavors smelling a bit "off" but the nic base shouldn't. I'd be careful with what you bought unless it's from a reputable Vendor.
Shouldn't have a strong odor at all. I use 100mg PG base. Can't smell anything. Plus be very careful sniffing 100mg nic base. That is some seriously dangerous stuff. Scares the crap out of me when I use it. Remember the LD50 of nicotine is 40-60 mg.

Thank you all very much for your quick answers. Here in Turkey, e-cigarette and e-liquids are not legal yet. That's why, we cannot buy them in a local market or shop legally. We have to buy them abroad, but it's very hard to get them through the customs too. We are helpless at that moment. There are some people who we have to believe they get those liquids from other countries and sell them here without modifying them. I know it's too risky to trust them, but as I said before, there's no other way to find what we're looking for and we desperately decide to trust them. I hope e-cigarette becomes legal all over the world including my country soon. Soon before many people get hurt or die.
