Today I received my first PV (an Ego-C) and lots of e-liquids from DK (tobacco, coffee, fruits, mint). The amount of smoke coming from it positively surprised me, but the smell of the smoke is very bad. It has that awfull smell when your standing too long in front of a fog machine (like the ones used in nightclubs), very unpleasant... It first I thought maybe it's the tobacco flavour, so I quickly switched over to Cherry, but it was exactly the same. I switched to a new atomizer and tried capuchino and mint: still the same :(

The taste of the vapor isnt so bad, allthough I excepted the flavours to be much more distinctive: they are very subtle. They all taste the same, with only a slight hint of the actual flavour. But I can live with that: at least I'm able to tell them apart. But by just smelling the smoke, there is absolutely no way of knowing which flavour is in the tank: they all have the same chemical fog machine smell.

Is there a possibility Im doing something wrong? Is there anybody who has the same issue?

The (very slight) smell will be similar to a fog machine as it works on a very similar principal - ie using PG. IMHO, the smell is 1000 times better than cigarette smoke & you could always try using e-liquids with a higher VG content for a different "smell" :)

There are so many different e-liquids to try. Some (especially from vendors that mix their own) have far more flavour than the cheaper ones.

Yeah, it does smell like a fog machine because, basically, it is. Fog machines use a coil to heat propylene glycol (known in the industry as "fog juice") to produce vapor, though in much larger volume than our little foggers. The smell is a noticeably cool and "dusty" kind of smell and is most prominent if the juice you're vaping doesn't have very strong flavouring (either in terms of concentration or pungency). You get used to it pretty quickly though. I don't even pay attention to it anymore unless my attention is drawn to it. Even then I tend to vape strongly flavoured juices which also tend to have more of a smell to them so it's barely noticeable to me even so.

I've had the same thing happen with china e-juice like dekang, if you want more distinctive flavors try one of the many wonderful juice venders listed here on ECF, I have found very few that have that fog machine smell.

Yes these are Dekang liquids, but there is not a wide choice of brands available in my country. I believe the other two are Joye's own brand, and Pink Spot. Are they are supposed to be better, or which brand do you suggest?

I was told that the Ego-C doesn't take VG liquids because they are too thick, but maybe a mix between PG/VG will do, thanks!
