I just starting vaping, last week, and I was able to quit smoking analogs within 3 days of receiving my 801 starter kit. I got some awesome juice from Nhaler and Nuvape and I've been vaping away while reading tons of information on this forum. I was stoked to have stopped smoking analogs and I feel so much better! But now I'm noticing a lot of posts about the FDA and possible bans on e-cigs and juice... 8-o

I'm wondering what the general consensus is from the newbies? Are you worried? Should we stock up on supplies? Plan to go back to our analogs?

Been vaping since July 8th, 2009. Stopped smoking on July 11th, 2009 after almost 30 years of smoking. Nobody is going to tell me I cannot vape. Period. I've started ordering unflavored nic-juice in as strong of strength and as large a quantity that I can afford--as often as my pocketbook allows! :D My husband (non-smoker/vaper) is doing all possible to make a PV that I can use. I may or may not make it...but I will go out kicking and screaming the whole way. I'll support the US suppliers for as much and as long as I can. I hope everyone else here does the same that isn't already.

Stocking up is not a bad idea. The weakest link in the chain seems to be atomizers.Mods are out there to buy that take readily available rechargeable batteries.Carts and filler are also cheap and abundant.I have been buying like a mad man since I started vaping three weeks ago today(analog free since my first vape). My woman has been doing the same.We have also been on a quest to learn as much as possible about the current situation. We are hopeful that we might have to deal with some price increases and warning labels but better stocked than sorry.

Hang in there!

I have not reverted since my first vape either;-)

Stock up, but, not beyond your financial means..

Who knows what will be down the road?

At least try to cover yourself for a year!

Be realistic!!

I've been wondering the same thing. I plan to stock up as well, but the juice has a limited shelf life I think. it seems mostly they want to regulate rather than ban it IMHO, but what that could mean to distribution and pricing is anybody's guess.

I think the shelf life is purely speculation. There are long timers on this forum that don't agree. Dark, cool, keep sealed until ready to use and you should be ok. (as always keep out of reach of children :D)

I'll never go back. That's simply not an option. I have been stocking up like crazy. And I'm not done yet. I like my nic fix as much as my morning coffee and have no plans to quit either. If there ever is a ban on on my PV, I want to be sure I can last as long as possible with a private stash. You can bet that at the very least it will be regulated and taxed and the nicotine levels capped to a smaller dose. If that is all that traspires, I will at least be ahead of the game. I always like to hedge myself.

I did second guess my decision to give this a try, so far im very happy but i hope this doesnt come back to be money wasted. I dont plan on stocking up but at least with this i can be honest with my g/f about, i have been sneaking in smokes when i could for the last few years, and well dishonesty sucks but quitting sucks and is not easy, this my g/f supports and is ok with and im happy its a nice compromise. As for now i am hoping for the best and just hope there comes to be a resonable solution.

As for the taxes, if they tax it i will buy it anyway i don't care abouty that. Here in wisconsin one pack of cigs costs 6-7 bucks so taxing liquid i could live with but a full ban would suck for everyone.

I've been off analogs since my first vape too. 2 weeks strong now and to that day, nothing and i mean NOTHING was able to help me quit. I will find a way to keep vaping regardless of what the government says its "best" for me.

I think the vaping industry, like humanity, will find a way to carry on in the face of diversity, trouble and conflict.

I've been vaping since January, and I've been stocking up since February. I now have enough equipment and liquid to last me 1 1/2 to 2 years.

I rotate my stock of liquids so that as a new one comes in, it goes into storage, and I take from one of my older ones in storage.

In addition to liquid, I've been stocking up on atomizers, which are the weakest link. Most of us could get used to zero nic DIY liquids if push came to shove. With mods, batteries are a non-issue because we are using batteries not specifically designed for e-cigs (and thus will remain readily available). The atomizers, however, are specific to e-cigs, and no one has yet figured out how to mod one.

As others have said, if there is a ban, I'm covered for at least awhile. If there isn't a ban, then I've basically prepaid for my hobby for the next year or so. It's a win-win for me since I'm a dedicated vaper.

However, I have a hard time recommending to newbies that they stock up. Frankly, until you've played with these things awhile, it's hard to tell what you're ultimately going to wind up wanting to use long-term.

For example, if you start with a 401 and order a pile of replacement parts, you're thrown a lot of money down the drain if you decide you don't really care for the 401 nearly as much as, say, the 510.

I you ask me banning these is political insanity, effectively forcing people to go back to smoking analogues
Not a snowballs chance in hell.

I have to disagree. Considering that the FDA said they are unsafe and the fact that smokers are considered a shunned class of people to be avoided, politicians have nothing to fear from banning these devices.

If I have to use my toaster and a bedsheet to vape with, I will never go back to analogs. My wife still smokes and I just about have her convinced to go all vape in our house. I have ordered so much crap that its insane, and think I can last a good long time. I mostly care now about attys, but I would bet you will still be able to buy those for a good long time even if there is a ban. They really can't ban the devices themselves, just the juice, and we can make that ourselves or even eventually go to no nic and easily brew our own.

Lots of people ask when I plan on stopping the vaping since I no longer consider myself a smoker.. they seem distressed when I tell them I will vape for as long as I can. I really enjoy it.. the flavors, the mechanics of it all, the ability to do it in my home and car.. all of it.. love it. The FDA can only do so much, and frankly if they make it more expensive, but safer, all the power to them. Packaging needs to be safe for children, and testing needs to be done to make sure we aren't getting poisoned by what we put into our bodies, but a full out ban doesn't make sense and is just not realistic.

Vaper for life.

I am thinking that even if they do ban them the FDA will test them and approve them at some point in time.

I am not going to stock product thinking if the FDA approves of so many other actually harmful things...like allowing tainted toys to come into the market, baby formula,,ect, chantex, antidepressants and other meds with more harmful side effects than the illness itself ect.. makes this ecig even more benign looking as the unbiased reports seem to say e cigs are.

I hope I am right.

Caffeine and nicotine...two of my favorite things in the morning! I think I better start stock piling vaping supplies. Maybe some coffee flavored juice to go with my latte!
