My e-Cig Journey

I'm new but thought I would post my "starting" experience with e-Cigs in hopes that it may somehow help someone else: I'm using the Joye 510 and 18mg of nicotine.

I've smoked for 25 some odd years. Mostly Marlboro Lights 1 to 1.5 packs a day. I've tried so many dang times to quit it is pathetic ever since I was 18 yrs old. Frustrated and angry with self so many times!!

I have to be honest. When I first started my e-Cig journey, I figured it would flop like everything else pretty quick. I figured at best I would smoke and vap both for at least a month before I could even consider throwing down my analogs. Thankfully this was not the case.

First day with Joye 510 (18mg nicotine USA mix e-juice) I had to kind of make myself use it. I made myself (or tried too anyway) alternate the e-Cig with my analogs. Smoke an analog then next time vap then next time analog and so forth.

Day two pretty much the same but no smoking analogs in the car. Found myself starting to really like my e-Cig to my surprise! I was happy.

Day three and I'm finding myself enjoying the e-Cig more than analogs. I'm really shocked at this point. By that night my analogs taste like crap and I really don't even want one. Find myself throwing them out before I've completely smoked them.

Day four and I really don't care if I have an analog at all. I actually make myself smoke an analog as soon as I get up. Smoke half of it and throw it out and grab my e-Cig. I vap all day without an analog. That night before going to bed I pretty much make myself have an analog. Take about three draws and can't stand it. Throw it out and haven't had one since. It's been about 3 weeks now.

I do find myself still craving analogs but then not really because I know it will taste like crap. Hope you understand what I mean here.

Anyone, even remotely considering switching from smoking to vaping and wondering if it will work or if it will just be another lost cause and waste of money, I say GO FOR IT!! I'm am truly amazed that these devices have (so far) taken me away from analogs. I pray it will continue for me!

I now have a passthrough and fine myself vaping like crazy some days. It's as addictive if not more addictive than analogs for me at times. I know I'm vaping more than I smoked. Probably because of convenience and trying to keep analogs out of my head. Nicotine is one powerful drug! I'm hoping to slow my vaping later. Right now I'm concentrating on NO ANALOGS.

I had the same experience. Smoked analogs (about 1/2 the normal amount) during the first three days (actually, only did that because I had to wait for the dang cheap batteries to charge). I only smoked about five cigs in the following two weeks and only about 1/2 at a time. I hated them every time I smoked one. I would have quit smoking after my first vape, if I had done more research, come here first (ECF), and found that I should have bought an eGo kit at the beginning. If I had done that, I have no doubt that I would have quit smoking after the first vape.

I didn't like the analogs I was smoking - they were too harsh for me and I was only buying those because they were cheap vs my favorite smoother ones which I could no longer afford at $60/carton. So I think it was easier for me to quit them. I had a couple while I was getting the hang of using my PV, and then carried some in my other pocket for a week just in case I had a PV problem, and then just tucked them away for emergencies (like total equipment failure or extended power failure). I only had to have an analog a couple of times because I thought my second battery was charging and it didn't charge. The analog tasted like crap. I just ordered 2 hefty multiport AC to USB chargers and 2 PTs and extra battery charging adapters and extra batteries! So I should be set for home and work even if I screw up charging my batteries.
