Bada-Bings going SUPERNOVA!

OK, it has now happened to me twice in one day, the Bada-Bing getting stuck atomizers on, getting very hot and not stopping. Both times I've caught it right away and disconnected the battery. Both were in different devices. I've done some poking around with one and this is what I have found...

This is definately a stuck switch issue. On both of my Bada-Bings that have done this (I have 4 now) they are the ones that I have dripped with instead of just topping off carts. Both of mine that have done this have juice down close to the battery end and were NOT turned upside down at night to drain like the other 2 i am using.

I am currently working on finding a remedy for this. So far my suggestions are to not drip unless you are priming the atomizer, and even then no more than 2 drops. Even tho it is a bigger atomizer, don't go more than 2 drops and when topping off a cart, only use what is absolutely necessary for the cart. If your cart pools a bit on top, remove the excess. When done with your Bada-Bing, I suggest taking off the cart, taking out the battery, and standing it up on the atomizer end on a paper towel and letting it drain the excess fluid off.

NOW... when vaping from your Bada-Bing, always wait a few minutes before putting it in a pocket or purse to make sure the atomizer doesn't go into cleaning mode. As a matter of fact, take the battery out when not vaping.

I have found this switch to be HIGHLY sensitive. If any juice gets down there, it can stick the switch and fry out an atomizer and make it go Supernova. If anything gets into that little hole at the bat end, it can stick the switch and make it go Supernova. If there is any sort of magnetic field, it can stick the switch and make it go Supernova.

Like I said, I am working on this right now and trying to figure out what else can be done. My first one that did this is fine now and working great, and I am about to put a battery back in the 2nd one that did this after I swab up as much juice from the battery end as I can.

Mine was only one day old when it happened. I did not drip on the atomizer. I had read somewhere, before I even received it, that you should not drip on their atomizers.

My brother suggested the same thing - let it sit overnight - atomizer down. I tried it 2 nights in a row. No good. Periodically, I try to put the battery back in - the led goes on and stays on.???? If you come up with anyting else that may help - aside from throwing it in the river - please let me know.

HILWAYB, it could be the primer fluid has leaked down to the switch. What I am doing right now is swabbing out everything in the battery end that I can reach with a q-tip and some ISO 90% rubbing alcohol. The first one of mine to do this was used for a week and had no problems. The 2nd one to do this is brand new and was the one that I put the menthol in.

Is your atomizer still working at least? I mean, it does get hot right? Don't throw it in the river just yet, I am trying several different things with both of mine that are going Supernova trying to find a quick & easy fix. I will make sure to post everthing as I go.

the RN series switch is crappy. I have them disassembled already. It's a small leaf of copper stuck on the end of a plastic pin, and the pin is sitting in a silicon flap in the switch housing. When you inhale, the flap moves a bit, and the copper leaf hits contacts on either side. There's really nothing you can do to fix it.

If it sticks on, you can flick it, or bounce it DOWN on the LED end to dislodge it.

If it's a bit too sensitive, you can take the battery and cart off, and either inhale REAL hard, or blow hard from the battery side. That does shift the pin in the silicone flap a bit, moving the copper away from the contacts.

Don't overdue the bouncing OR the blowing/inhaling. It's pretty easy to knock that bit of copper off, then you have no cigar

This is my first BB, which BTW, I ordered on your review. You were right on. Too bad it was only for a day. Anyway, was your second one from the reopening on the 20th? I wonder if it is a bad batch? I did order 2 of them, but one of them was for my brother.

I believe the atomizer still works - I was able to get a little vapor out of it, but didnt try for long, - the led stays on and I dont want to burn my fingers again. I definitely think the switch is sticking.

The first one to stick was actualy from my 1st order, but it seems to be fine now. The one that is sticking right now and causing me major grief is from the 3-20 order. But I'm working on it and not going to give up.

Tried both - no dice - anything else you can think of ? - Or do I just get in my car and drive down to the river??

OK HILWAYB, ready to toss it? Try this then, get some ISO 90% Rubbing alcohol and soak it for an hour or so. Then sit it on end and let it dry over night. Then prime the atomizer with 2 drops, put a battery in, and see if it's still sticking. Before you toss it, wait for Steve to take care of you. I know you are fustrated right now, but give him and the BB a chance.

Do that about a dozen times

Then alternate ends, blow in it, and tap it on a paper towel until no more water comes out. If you see any yellow stuff, you need to put more water thru it.

Stuff a rolled up paper towel in the atomizer end to soak up an that's left, and let it sit overnight.

THIS is where I press the clean button for 15 seconds or so... nice clean atomizer, no stink, no funny tastes after, but that's up to you.

Make sure you drip a couple drops on the coil, put on a full cart, and let it soak for an hour before using it again. The full cart won't last long, 1/2 of it goes immediately into the atomizer mesh, lol...

Rj's advise about warm tap water has always worked for me. I have had pilot batt's and 901 batts both stick with me (I drip a lot!). I usually put 2 or 3 drops of warm water in the batt end a couples time and shake the hell out of it to get most of the water out. I don't leave mine overnight though, I put it back on and start using it right away. I have done this numerous times with stuck switches on batts. Good luck

I figuerd this out after sending a few batteries back for replacement. Works great so far!

No, not after one day (unless you dripped it full of juice). But you can probably give it a couple good puffs of air from the battery side to make it a bit less sticky though.

Afterthought - I just remembered something, for you guys having problems. RN's have no one-way valve in them like a BLING does... If you happen to BLOW instead of inhale when you're vaping it, it shoots juice down into the switch... don't do that ;-)

OK, since one of mine that is sticking has that nasty menthol in it, I am going to try this. Hell, if it dies I've at least learned something from it, and if I can't get the menthol taste out of it I wouldn't enjoy it much anyways. LOL! I got nothing to lose.

My Supernova was showing juice leakage problems. I did not drip on the atomizer, just topped off the carts and even touched the tip of a kleenex to the carts to ensure that they weren't too full. After use there would be fluid in the battery compartment. I'd wipe mine down, use Q-tips and drained mine at night. Then the electromagnetic french fying occurred. Mine was the black kit from an earlier order. (I wanted to cry, I really liked that one the best!!!)

I'm now using the gold fleck atomizer bada-bing (3/24 order). The vapor is OK, but it is just not the same as my original black bada-bing. It has gotten progressively better with use, so maybe it just needs time to be worked in.

I never checked my new black kit. I was saving it for when this atomizer failed. The new black one does have that small hole with the metal behind it. Guess I should try it, but I think I'll wait until I can get some more atomizers.

RjG how often do you suggest cleaning the bada-bing with hot water?
