So I thought I would share the video of the city council meeting I attended last night where my city (Carlsbad, CA) banned ecigs everywhere smoking is banned. If you are concerned about it happening in your city please watch and take notes. Their coming faster then you think. I did not even know this was happening until hearing about it the night before on the 11 o'clock news. I think I was the only vaper in the room. There were two news stations there to cover the decision with reports full of false propaganda to obviously push the "agenda" faster.

Note even though all 4 women that spoke appear to be individuals they were all there together planning there stradegy. They all sat right behind me. Every speaker there was either paid by a special interest or spoke on behalf of someone who is.

So I would have spoke if I knew this was going to be this way, but you have to put your request in before the meeting starts, and I had no idea what I was going to experienced.

I've been vaping at work in this city in an open environment Of over 50 people for over 3 years with not one complaint ever. Now I will only be able to vape outside with the smokers, and any future smoking laws are applied directly to me as a vapor.

I sure could use our communities help letting them know how they were lied to by these special interests and what vaping means to you. It is way to big for me to fight alone.

Here is the council's email address if you want to let them know your thoughts. Just please be respectful and mature.

council@carlsbadca.gov

Thanks
Chris

Yeah hey Mike it's crazy how the pro tem mayor just before the vote quotes Tomas Jefferson about the govt should stay out of people's lives but then states his biased against smokers and enthusiastically puts up the vote to ban ecigs like cigarettes.

Note the 3rd part of the law to treat vaping like smoking wasn't even on the submitted agenda. Only the ban outdoors at restaurants and at the parks is what was published. Then they added their real plan at the meeting. Classic bait and switch.

Please send even a quick email stating you are simply against this ban. Could really make a difference. Without the funding to hire professionals to fight this fight this community is all we have.

I guess our glorious elected officials know what's best for us.
That has little or nothing to do with what happened at that meeting.

It's about money.

Big tobacco, big pharma and big gov are starting to see dollar signs floating away from them and they're not liking it. They want your money, even if it's over your dead body.

Yeah LDS I didn't even think of the cig taxes they have lost over the years. Although I don't see how banning it will increase those revenues. Maybe they are getting even more money from somewhere else? Hum if I was big tobacco I would maybe first have it treated everywhere just like my product, have it so regulated by the FDA that the little guy can't stay in business and then step in as one of the only providers and let the profits flow. Yeah something like that is going on after seeing what I saw last night. This is a rich city. They have a bigger agenda here maybe.

Is it that big of a deal one can't vape everywhere? It is California. One gets what they vote for.

It's a disturbing trend, I think it should be up to individual establishments. If a bar wants to let people vape, let them. Propylene glycol is an ingredient in a lot of mixers anyway so people will still be consuming it at bars anyway lol

People have voted away their freedoms and now they complain?

Well Steve glad you have voted for all the right people and it's not your fault. Now I'm dealing with my personal reality from powers that I did not vote for, and asking for help from my friends here in ECF to click on a link and send a simple email. I don't care who they voted for just giving them an opportunity to watch an actual meeting banning our freedom to do something we love.

Collectively, yes. People are always ready to vote away things they don't use. Bicycles on the roadway slow me down and annoy me... and they're dangerous. People get hit on them all the time. Some abuse them by riding opposing traffic. I'm all for banning bicycles except on designated bike paths. TIC

Include Big Pharma Grants and state tax money income, TSET, and ... It looks overpowering, but we MUST BATTLE ON!!!

Here is a beautiful Question & Answer article about eCig bans and where TSET plays a key role. (YOUR TOWN USA IS INCLUDED, BUT MOST OF OUR GREEDY COUNCILMEN AND WOMEN GO FOR THE MONEY. THIS ARTICLE IS EXPLORING DEEPER, SHEDS HOPE)

as you can see, there is proof of an assault from every direction. The tobacco companies? They just want to corner the market, like any business would hope to do. But, some are worse about it than others, that's a given.

Once they get e-cigs completely included in all their laws with cigarettes, then it is just a small step to add the excessive cigarette taxes added to e-cigs too.

Remember, cigarettes are not banned, neither are e-cigs. They are just working on getting e-cigs included in all the cig laws now.

Like it or not, fight it or not, legislation prohibiting e-smoking wherever tobacco smoking is banned is probably going to happen pretty much everywhere eventually. Most pubic places, it'll just be like getting a speeding ticket. Be courteous, and you may just get a warning. If not, pay the fine, go to court and chance paying the fine plus court costs, or pay a lawyer to represent you. As with speeding, if you're gonna play, be prepared to pay. No point in getting obnoxious and escalating the situation.
