I think mine is dying. The switch is going bad, same thing, have to press hard and in the right spot. USB - I have to connect the cable now and pull it out just a bit. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. Plus, it's been in my hands so much, I've polished the plastic smooth. Might be time for a new one, almost got it to 1 year old.

I've been trying to contact Cybervex for over a week now but have gotten no response. I've emailed them twice and sent a pm, but nothing. Any suggestions?

Yikes, I would say just keep emailing him or possibly look into another box mod if you're really in dire need. I have't seen any appreciable movement on this thread in some time. I know he had some family issues(new additions) a few months ago, possibly that is the reason for lack of response?

That is the one thing that always scared me about purchasing these "homemade quasi-commercially available" mods made by one single person as a side hobby. Usually they're great, innovative little marvels that work well. But if said maker decides to give it up for whatever reason( new job, less time available, loss of interest, family or health issues, deciding to move to Tibet to become a Buddhist monk, etc...) where do go if you want one or need servicing(and don't have the required electronic skills to do it yourself).

Luckily, there are now several available Box Mods on different long standing websites to choose from.

Jay will answer back, it's just he and his wife had new-born twins a couple of months ago and that kind of keeps them busy, The Bartleby is an excellent PV. The one I have now is my second. The battery will last about a day and a half and I'm a heavy vaper. The newest Bartleby has a MOSFET switch, no leakage and the usb charger/pass-through feature. It's a good deal.:D

i emailed twice after getting it asking about about a couple of things, never heard back. IMHO the button is way to hard to press, feel like I"m doing exercise everytime I take a drag. And I'm sure i've flooded the thing a few times because of it. whether its normal or not is kind of irrelevant when you don't get a response from the maker of it.

I second that!

He's gotten back to me on every little picky thing I asked being a engineer geek :D

Button is a stiff press but I find I prefer that as I can put it in my pocket or back pack with little worry about it going off by acciendent. It 'softens' up bit over time. I'm also hoping the firmness leads to longer life.\

It's my goto PV moving my JStick V3 to backup.

I am going to place an ordered and am undecided on the choice of recessed flush connectors.
What are the pros & cons of the two?
Thank you.

If you mean the choice between recessed and non-recessed (flush) connections, I'd recommend flush. While attys aren't as bad, some cartomizers if you're filling from a drip tip can leak out the batt connection and if they're recessed inside the box it could mess with the connections to the charging cable and even with the switch even though Jay does put a lot of epoxy around the switch area. It's just more evident when the connection is flush.

Also, you might want to use the mega eGo cartomizer/atomizer and it would be impossible to use it on a recessed connection. You still have to cut the skirt off the carto or atty to use with the Bart (or use an eGo adapter for the charger).

And the difference in length using a regular atty isn't substantial.

the reason i asked i just saw a video on youtube about the box mod by ken, the 3.7V 510 mod and it had a usb port on it, so i wanted to know if its the exact same thing minus an led light or two.

Need a link to the video. I see nothing on Ken's site that shows a usb port on his box mods.
