I have the following APV's & would like a definitive answer as what type / brand of batteries I SHOULD use in them....

joyetech Evic ....................???????????????

Itaste SVD.........................???????????????

Vamo vivi...........................???????????????

Price / Cost is NOT an option .... (well IT IS but i'd like to keep my face as it is, as ugly as it is) rather pay MORE & Stay Pretty if you see what I mean ..................

At the moment I have an Intellicharger i2 sitting on my desk with two 18650 3100Mah 3.7 Senybor's in it (Senybors are Pannys inside!!!).........Are they "usable" for any of the above or what ?????

Now please bear in mind when replying .... I'm a Heating & Vent Gas Engineer I CAN repair your Heating & AC Units ... Electricery / batteries & the like are NOT MY THING .....:confused::D:D

replies like "GET THESE & HERES A FAST-TECH LINK" would be BRILLIANT ................:D:D

Cheers Guys

Ok. From the ECF guide on rechargeable batteries:
"Our advice is that the best and the safer choice of battery for APVs is the AW IMR Li-Mn rechargeable".
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/129569-rechargeable-batteries.html

18650 AW IMR here:
AW IMR 18650 2000 mAh

18350 AW IMR here:
Batteries : AW IMR 18350 3.7V 700mAh

You can use AW IMR with the three mods you listed.
There are other good batteries as well. The Panasonic Hybrid CGR18650CH:
Batteries : Panasonic Hybrid/IMR CGR18650CH

That one is also available at Fasttech:
$10.51 Panasonic CGR18650CH Rechargeable 2250mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Batteries 2-pack - authentic cells / 2-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Cheers fer the Info kiwi but would not these >>>>>>>>>>>>> $13.35 Panasonic NCR18650 Protected Rechargeable 2900mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Batteries (2-Pack) 2-pack - overcharge + over-discharge protection at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Be better for APV's ???? .. It does say in that link you provided that "Unprotected" batteries should NOT be used in APV's .. (Having said that did I not read somewhere that the Evic & the Vamo had their OWN BUILT IN PROTECTION ????)

told yer this battery thing is just a MINEFIELD .. one false move & BOOOOM!!! its Bye Bye lips !!!!

Hiya - just noticed you're in the UK and I linked RTD Vapor in the US.
Anyways - what the ECF link says is:
"DO NOT USE UNPROTECTED RECHARGEABLE LI-ION BATTERIES IN AN APV

Use safer-chemistry batteries such as Li-Mn or protected Li-ion"

Its not saying don't use any unprotected type of battery - its saying don't use unprotected Li-ions. IMRs are not unprotected Li-ions, they are Li-Mn, and that's why the same ECF guide recommends AW IMR (Li-Mns) as the best. They have a safer chemistry and are designed to handle high drain.
"Our advice is that the best and the safer choice of battery for APVs is the AW IMR Li-Mn rechargeable."

Personally I use AW IMR or Efest IMR. But the Panasonic Hybrid CGR18650CH have been around for a while now and a lot of vapers use them. They have a safer hybrid chemistry too.
(Put the bold in to make it easier to see the quoted bits).

Here's the list from the guide in order of recommended use:
"We now advise that Li-Mn or top-quality Li-FePo4 rechargeables are used in APVs, in preference to rechargeable Li-ions. We suggest the best option, in order, is:

1. AW IMR Li-Mn rechargeables.
2. AW Li-FePo4 rechargeables [Li-FePo4's MUST HAVE A SPECIAL CHARGER]. Note that these batteries are mostly 3 volt nominal so the system voltage will be lower than normal.
3. Good quality (such as AW or Pila) protected Li-ion rechargeables.
4. Branded protected Li-ions come next - such as xxxfire Li-ion rechargeables (for xxx insert Trust / Sure / Ultra-).
5. The least-preferable option is a generic protected Li-ion.
6. Unprotected rechargeable Li-ion cells should not be used.
7. Standard cells (non-rechargeable) should not be used."

well that leaves me with two 18650 3100Mah 3.7 Senybor's on my desk doing NOTHING then .. (just read em & they both say "UNPROTECTED Li-On battery") ..

unless someone can tell me that the Evic & the vamo have their "own Protection" built in that is !!!
