Tenergy Rcr123a 3volt 900mah blue batts

I got a tenergy charger for it the model that is made for recharging them
But it has been charging them over 4.20-4.21 volts
on the site and everywhere i read it says peak should be around 3.6

When i charged them on my trustfire-tr-001 I know its a 3.7 charger but they stop at about 3.7 3.8 I did this for review i do not charge them on there at all!!!!!

But i wanted to see if that would cut them off and it did why would my charger made for them over charge them? when they where under load i was at first getting 8volts then it dropped to 7.30

Is my charger bad has this happened to anyone else?

There are 3.7V 123a batteries out there. Perhaps yours were mislabeled? Are the batteries themselves protected? Are they really hot when you take them off the charger? If the answers are yes and no respectively, then they're almost certainly 3.7V. The fact that they got up to 4.2V without blowing almost confirms it by itself.

Well i know for sure they are labeled 3v but they and from what i have heard are 3.7 batts with a circuit that corrects them to 3v when in use
so it would charge to 3.7 3.8 normally but these charged to 4.21 which would be normal for a 3.7 batt right? so is it possible to burn out the protection/circuit that keeps them at 3volts when in use and only lets them charge to 3.7 3.8?

thats the only thing i can think unless the charger is messed up and continued to charge them but then the circuit should kick in so maybe its the batts

and they never got hot they did get really warm.......................but def not hot

whats wierd is my other set are reading around 3.7 3.8 and the tenergy charger wants to keep charging them but when i put them on the trustfire tr001 for just a sec they saw fully charged and its a 3.7 charger with a output of 4,2 so i would assume the pcb/circuit is kicking on

and then i put the ones that where reading over 4volts on the tr001 charger it also read full

im thinking about tossing these batts chargers and getting some yellow lifepo

this is too screwy and they have been fine for months with no overcharging then outta blue they mess up
