ive had my provari for about a year and a half. im having a problem with battery drainage. i can put a freshly charged battery in reading 4.1 and after about 20 hits on it , the battery reads 3.7. i have cleaned it inside and out with alcohol. im kind of frustrated with it. i hate to pay that much and not use it. could my batteries be bad? can i use other 18650 batteries besides the aw batteries?

Depends on your charger. The battery might just be toward the end of it's life. After a year and a half on a cheap-end charger, that could be expected. It's more about how many times it's been charged (charge cycles) than age though. Without more info, my first guess would be that it's just time for a couple new batteries that you can rotate through & possibly a charger upgrade.

I tell you what, I had a set of AW18650 IMR 2000mah batteries that I used for 18 months every day.. They were rotated every other day so that means they each had about 270 charge cycles on them... They still would last me a full day+... The reason I believe is that I charged them with a PILA charger.. A good charger does make a difference. When I first started vaping I had a Trustfire charger, it sucked... After a few months my batteries run time was much shorter and I had to replace them. Went through several sets before I bought a good charger. I have had my PILA for 3 1/2 years, batteries always come off @ 4.2 volts. It never over charges, and cuts off once the voltage reaches 4.2...plus the way it charges isn't as hard on the batteries-Its a smart charger.... :)
