Or is it just how this hobby goes?

I first got the T-Rex eGo clone right after July 4th. I was pretty happy with the battery life. 1 battery would last me all day. They've been slowly going down and down and now it appears that 1 battery won't even charge. I put it into the charger and the green light stays on like it's full, but its totally dead. I know there's a 2 month warranty on the battery, but it's still kind of a pain.

I also got a Bartleby 2-3 weeks ago. Really liking it and the battery seemed to be pretty good, but now its draining in about an hour or so. It's real nice when its fresh, but again, totally dead a couple hours later.

Is there some big trick to this whole thing, or is it just something you have to deal with when using e-cigs. I'm always afraid when we go out (although that doesn't happen alot with kids) that I'm going to be stuck out with an e-cig.

I'm not familiar with the Bartleby, so I can't comment on that. But I've had my Joye eGo since april 22 and I re-charge the batteries everyday. Four months later both batteries still hold a charge nearly the same as they did on day one... so yah, I'm gonna have to agree with tj on that one.

edit* I just saw you bought it from liberty flights, you should contact them. I hear they're really good with honoring those warranties.

Yeah, I've been on contact with them and they're totally willing to take care of the battery. This certainly isn't a slam on them. They've been great.

I didn't find too much on the T-Rex when I purchased, but I heard so much about them (LF), and since this is what they were recommending and giving out to all of their friends at the time, it sounded good to me.

Yeah, I'm probably just going to order a Joye or maybe the Riva SE and see how those do.

Like my daddy always said "you get what you pay for", for me paying extra to get something that's gonna last a lot longer is worth it. As far as what a vendor is saying about their product I don't pay much attention too, if it doesn't get good reviews on THIS forum I don't get it. As far as batteries for the Bartleby, check out RTD Vapor or Super T Manufacturing and get some AW batteries they're well worth the money.

With the trustfire.. you'd be better off getting some quality AW ICR 14500's.. or better yet an AW IMR 14500 (This has less capacity than the ICR.. but will give you much better performance, and they are cheaper)

UltraFire/Trustfire highly overstate their battery capacities... and a lot of the flame jacket trustfires are actually counterfeit crap batteries with a protection circuit slapped on. The AW IMR cells give are 600mAh, but they are LiMN high-drain cells. They will give you better performance for vaping, even more so if you're using <2.0ohm.. they really shine with low resistance. They are only about $6.50-$7 a pop.. you can get them at a couple places.. Super T Manufacturing is a good place..
Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.

"AW IMR 14500 3.7 Volt 600mah" Give them a shot, I think you'll be pleasantly supprised :)

As for "you get what you pay for" the T-Rex set was the same price as the other Riva's and Joye's, but yeah, I hear what you guys are saying.

As for the AW IMR's, they're def on my shopping list. I knew the Trustfire's weren't as good, but that's what came with the Bartleby. But I figured they'd be better than they are. Although I've only been using one. I have the 2nd one he included charging now.

I'm glad to hear this isn't a common occurrence, once you get stuff that works.
