So I was reading Mooch's blog re: battery safety trying to find a good set of batteries for the IPV3-LI I just bought online (my reward to myself for going from a dual user to only vape... been a week!)

Looking at the specs I found online it says the max output from the mod is 45A (!!!!?) which basically puts any batteries that I can find out of contention for use, especially since with the 200w upgrade the max output will likely be higher still.

Based on Mooch's comments I'm stuck between either the VTC4 or the HB6 which could work depending on how I use the mod. I was hoping to use the Samsung 30Q so I could have the higher capacity but it looks like they aren't a good fit. On one site they suggested the 25R's but based on Mooch's tests they wouldn't work either (both fail at 30A).

So my question is what are the best batteries for this mod (or any 200w mod for that matter)? What batteries do other people who have the IPV3-LI use?

I have 2 40 amp 18650 battery. I believe I got it from cuecig.com. they are vamped vapor cells and I run them in my snow wolf. Never get near 200w though.
I bet those wouldn't test out near 40 amp continuous.

My Snow Wolf 200 runs great on VTC4's. Samsung 25R's work great too. But I have no reason to vape over the 70watt max for TC.

Probably not lol. But at least it puts my mind at ease. I have the Samsung 25r as well. Like you my snow wolf never reaches close to 200w so I'm really not concerned about it.
It sure wouldn't put my mind at ease. Some of the rewraps that have super high ratings won't even handle 6amp continuous... Stick with known good batteries, not an accident waiting to happen.

Yeah I don't think I'll ever use the full 200w output I just want some peace of mind when using the mod. Where would you order the LI-PO packs that can be used in place of the 18650s? Is cuecig a good place look?
Not sure. I haven't really looked into the Li-po packs but I think I will. The Samsung 25r have been good. No complaints on them and they run my mod good. Let me know what you find.
