Ordered an ipv4, and it's my first device without built in battery, ordered panasonic ncr 18650 b batts with it because that was suggested by site. I will want to get a second set of bats soon and want to know what to get, I know nothing about batts. Are the panasonics good? I saw ppl posting about samsung and lg, and what about amp output for the ipv4? I plan on using a kanger subtank, have .15 nickel coils, and an atlantis 2 with .3 coils mostly.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

The Panasonic NCR18650B it TOTALLY unsuitable to be used in an IPV4. This battery has a CDR (continuous discharge rating) of only 6.8A.

Get yourself a couple of 20A (or 30A) batteries to run in that mod. @Baditude's blogs are invaluable.

1. Orbtronic SX30 2100mah 30A
2. Sony VTC4 2100mah 30A (there are no authentic VTC5's out there)
3. Xtar 2100mah 30A (re-wrapped Sony VTC4)

1. AW 1600mah 24A
2. Orbtronic SX22 2000mah 22A
3. LG HE2/HE4 2500mah 20A
4. Samsung 25R 2500mah 20A
5. AW 2200mah 20A (new)

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

Use IMR batteries.
ncr batteries are not the right kind of batteries to be using

a friend says he uses nxjo 2500mah 35A. Temp control limiting output is interesting, I wont be using the temp control exclusively though.

Those are identical to the Efest 35A batteries which are really only rated to 35A when pulsing and only have a 20A continuous discharge rating.
