Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a Provari, I notice that they are selling and recomending AW IMR batteries (18650 & 18490) at about £10 each. However I know that from Liberty-Flight I can get 18650 Li-ion batteries at £5 a pair.

Please can someone tell me what the differences are and anything else which can guide me to which one to get.

Many Thanks

Chris

The Provari provides higher voltages using only one 3.7 volt battery by drawing more amps. It has safeguards to protect itself and the battery. I use standard 2500 mah trustfires in mine but not without some problems. The max voltage is much lower than when I use IMR's and the unit will sometimes shut down before the battery is fully discharged. I vape at a lower wattage than a lot of folks so I can get away with it. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't get the trustfires again for the Provari.

Provape now offers a 2500 mah non-IMR battery that works with the Provari. They include a lower resistance spring and a spacer since the protected cells are longer than non protected IMRs and the endcap won't screw in all the way. Here's a thread on these new cells: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...tteries-coming-soon-provari-power-2500-a.html

New Batteries are available now. I just bought 2 of them yesterday at our Local Shop here and lemme tell ya, they are very very nice. They do outlast the 1500mAh Orange ones by a landslide. I saw a post once regarding using different batteries than what was recommended and the results were in a word, Catastrophic! The PV exploded in the users pocket and left him with a half dollar sized 2nd and 3rd degree burn mark on his leg. This may not always happen, but if there is a chance of my PV Exploding like a bomb in my pocket then I am not going to risk it. I always use whatever battery is recommended by the vendor.
