Since the thread is titled to discuss the Provari and battery types, and it's managed to take a new direction to discuss Darwin...
I Concur with a previous poster that it would be appropriate to close the thread.
I just don't know how?
Again thanks to everyone who has contributed.
yeh lets not misinform new vapers..
ProVari does not adjusts WATTAGE.
If you change the watts the volts change, if you change the volts the watts change. This is Ohms law, plain and simple. I don't care how you slice it, that's the way it is.
The Darwin and the ProVari have their own way of achieving the end result.
I agree, no real reason to close thread. The difference between the provari and Darwin has been tossed around all over, its actually nice for someone who is considering which one to buy to have one thread discuss the pros and cons for each, even though that was not the original intent if the thread.
As far as vv vs. Power regulated, they are different. Adjusting by watts or by volts can both achieve the sweet spot we all seek... but that does not mean the tech is the same. I'll leave the in depth explanation to someone better than I. I believe there is a thread where nebula explains it very well! I do know that by adjusting by watts gives you a more fine tuning. If this is unimportant to someone, that's fine, but to say they are the same Is incorrect. But, that is not the reason for my choice. For me, it is what I explained above.

Only that the Darwin will automatically adjust the VOLTAGE to keep the same watts through OHM fluctuations of the life of an atomizer.
The ProVari doesn't.
Anyways. This is stupid. Let's enjoy the PV's we're using. No matter if it's an Ego, Riva, REO, ProVari, or Darwin.

Back to the car analogy...
Seems to me the Darwin is kinda like the Luxuary model with an auto transmission. Simple, elegant, no need for instructions really. It's inutitive. It's overpowered but not likely to ever be driven to it's full potential.
ProVari comes across more like a high performance sports or touring car. Click and shift and think out your next move. It's very powerful, built for abuse, and folks will probably find ways to make it out perform its percieved boundaries![]()
Do you own a ProVari, because if you did I don't think you would have made this statement.
I'm not trying to argue, really! If a vv works for you, that's awesome! I in no way said you weren't able to achieve your sweet spot with a vv. I was merely stating there was indeed a difference in how they worked.
No need to be defensive. We all have a common goal and that is to find the right vape for all of us individually! We are very fortunate there are so many options that most of us, if not all, are able to achieve our sweet spot given enough time, patience and experimentation.

No I do not...it's my percpetion thus far.
Click so many times to see the resistance of the atty.
Click so many times to adjust the voltage.
Click so many times to turn it on/off.
You do the driving with the ProVari........you think, you make it perform. It's a more raw driving experience (which ain't bad!)
Darwin has one dial and one button. I remember a number that I like for a juice...
I put any ole atty I want on it...and use that same number. Darwin does the math for me.
