100 watts at 3.7V is 27 amps. That's pushing it pretty hard unless you can find a batteries capable of the load. Most 18650's are 20A continuous rated. 26650s are coming out with higher ratings. Sigelei recommends two 30A batteries.

But then, who wants to vape off a 100 watt light bulb or a 100 watt atomizer? It's a sales gimmick, IMO, but it does give you a buffer zone for safety.

I would use Samsung 25R 2500 mAh batteries. They are my go to, that and the 20R. I'm probably gonna get hate for this but Efest batteries are pretty much always a winner. But yeah, 25R outperformed VTC5 on a 35A test for the first 1000 mAh even though it's advertised as a 20 amp continuous. Sony's really aren't even the best battery, there are 20A batteries that do better at 30 amps and above than Sony's.

I looked for a battery spec on the Sigelei website and couldn't find any. A link would be great. I have seen a couple of shops list 20a batteries required. Here's one.

Your numbers are correct for one battery Dave, but this mod uses two in series. Maximum battery draw at 10-0 watts is under 20 amps at 85% efficiency and 6v.

20 amp batteries are just fine for this mod. I suggest Samsung 25R or LG HE2.

If you prefer VTC4's, RTD Vapor has them in stock, Xtar branded.

Be aware that the XTAR VTC4 cells may not fit in the Sigelei as they are taller than the OEM Sony cells which I've read are already a tight fit. I'll know for sure early next week when my Sigelei 100 is delivered. I have a pair of unused XTARs in my stash.

Yep, the current through a series circuit would be the same through both. Only one path to take. Two 20A batts wouldn't make it right. Good catch!
