Batteries--Protected or Unprotected

Yup this thread just confuses me. Better to just say what I have and get feedback...

I use a Sony US18650VTC4 High Drain 30amp rechargeable li-ion 2100mAh battery in a nemesis clone with a kfl plus and coils between 1.3 to 1.6 ohms.
Is my face gonna be blown off? Been using this setup for a week, should I be thankful my teeth are still where they are supposed to be or did I buy the correct battery? I don't see Imr/Icr or any other acronyms but it is li-ion... The amount of terminology for a simple battery is ridiculous.

Adding to my previous post,
I do understand the danger
of setting up a mech mod with coil(s)
that demand a discharge rate
which the battery cannot safely deliver...

I have yet to see a battery
intended/advertised for e-cig/mod use
with a labeled discharge (C) rating.

The Kamry 100 comes with unprotected batteries and a charger. My question is: Can you use protected batteries with it instead of the unprotected ones? Next do you need a different battery charger also?
