I'm looking for the best batteries I can find for my ipv4s. What's your favorite batteries. I'm running Imren 3.7v 3000 mah 18650. Are they a good match for my IPV4S
No, you need Sony VTC4 if you plan on using all 120W. With the batteries you have I would not go over 60W.

As @Boden mentioned those Imrens are just as bad as the Efest Purples, the printed amp rating is not their true CDR, they are re-wraps and really only good up to 20amps which are fine and stable up to 60 to 75watts, 75 to 100watts they would be okay, 100+ watts you could be in trouble.

Check out @Mooch and @Baditude for some pointers and battery tests.

To get the full potential out of that mod you'll need 30amp CDR batteries for 100watts plus
LG HB6 (1500mah 30amp CDR)
Sony VTC4 (2100mah can sustain 30amp CDR)
Sony VTC3 (1600mah 30amp CDR)

For 99watts and below
Samsung 25R
LG HG2
LG HE2/HE4
Sony VTC5
Samsung 30Q (75watts and below)

Efest
Imren
MXJO
these brands I really wouldn't trust in a high output device of any sort given they are re-wraps of LG, Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, and Sanyo B and C discards the name brand manufacturers sell off to others to put into lower usage applications to high end applications.

Liion Wholesale
Illumination Supply
IMRBatteries
RTDVapor
Orbtronics
are all excellent authorized retailers of name brand batteries and chargers.

Sony quit making the vtc 5 battery however sometimes if you look around you can still find OLD STOCK of Genuine Sony vtc5 batteries. if you can find GENUINE old stock vtc5s I would purchase them. However they are difficult to find because they no longer make them.
This is debatable.

Sony is still manufacturing VTC batteries for power tool manufacturers and battery powered automobiles. Sony never meant for these batteries to be sold on the open battery market in the first place, so when the vaping industry makes inquiries about them, Sony denies that they are still available, and even posting statements that they are no longer being manufactured. This stance is likely because of potential liability issues because the vapers using Sony VTC batteries may be considered high risk consumers (super sub-ohm) and using the batteries over recommended discharge rates.

Due to limited availability of genuine Sony VTC for a number of reasons and their continued desirability, Sony VTC's are a popular battery to counterfeit. Therefore, it is wise to purchase them only from reputable e-cig vendors (RTD Vapor, Illumn, Orbtronics, IMR Batteries) who can trace their sources back to the original manufacturer.

The Sony VTC5 is often advertised as a 30 amp battery, however Mooch's independent bench testing reveals it only has a 20 amp continuous safety rating. If looking for a true 30 amp continuous rated Sony, the VTC3 and VTC4 are 30 amp continuous.
