Hello ECF forum, I'm new to vaping and ordered 2 batteries and I have a question.
The 2 batteries come with 2 types of chargers and I wanted to know if I must charge each battery with its original charger or maybe I can use 1 charger for both? The batteries and chargers are:

Joyetech eGo twist 1000mah VV - comes with a Joyetech 4.2V 420ma USB charger.
SD keyring 300mah - comes with a 5V 100ma USB charger.

Can the 4.2V 420ma charger can be used with the SD keyring? because that 100ma charger is slow.

Thank you!

I would say that it's quite possible that some suppliers don't know their product well. The people HERE will CARE about your safety and well- being. If he's wrong, he's not responsible for your burnt house, and he gets to sell you another one.

Using the wrong charger will void any possibility of returns/warranty/lawsuit. If you can't get a good answer soon here, maybe get another charger.

    Short answer.......

Although a device only draws the amps that it can use.... (so having a charger rated ABOVE the amps of the original is OK from an amp perspective) and assuming the voltage matches.... you're 1/2 way there.

The problem is the battery and also the charger's other attributes. Some chargers, for example, had the polarity reversed. Other chargers could...stress... the battery. The general rule is... USE THE PROPER CHARGER FOR A PARTICULAR BATTERY.

Also, I note that I LIKE my slow charger. Keeps my batteries working fine. Fast charging stresses batteries. Fast = heat = stress. Li-Ion batteries don't like to be heated by chargers.

The voltages in your description don't match. But Li-Ion batteries are normally charged to 4.2 volts. So... Did you specify the OUTPUT values on both chargers? (And I don't mean the power supply... I mean the charger)

Since the vendor recommended it... if you're going to experiment with the higher mA charger... put it in a nice big glass bowl away from any flammable stuff. I'm not recommending metal since it is conductive (but is often used for this too). Not a bad idea to charge these things this way all the time. They have charging bags for this too.
