Hi everyone!

Hoping someone can help me. I've been here awhile, finding out I've made a horrible mistake. Got the Royal Blues - was smart enough NOT to do the "we will send you carts" thing. Whew! But, in looking for carts, I found safecig. Now finding out that was a mistake too, I think. Right in the URL, it said "royal blue electronic cigarette" so I figured it would fit. It does not. The carts are just a little bigger. I'm just trying to save money, so rather than buy their battery and charger, I'm trying to look for an adapter for my battery. Do any of you know anything about the RB battery? I've seen some posts saying that the safecigs are RN4081. I can take pictures and post if that will help. Just trying not to lose the money I've already spent on these carts, as they're not returnable. Feeling like such a dork, as I didn't do enough homework or something.

Thanks in advance...

Hi. Well as no one seems to be jumping at this question, I'll give it a shot. I'm not familiar with the Royal Blues e-cig, and there is very little mention of it on this forum or elsewhere. From searching, it looks like it's offered by the "free trial" sellers which are most always bad deals. But if you are stuck with it then you should be able to get some use out of it without having to buy expensive cartridges from them.

Firstly it's possible to refill cartridges and cartomizers with e-liquid and this is much cheaper than buying pre-filled cartridges and using them once. I would suggest going to youtube and searching for "e-cig 101" which will bring up some helpful instructional videos. Or check out the sticky's in the new users section of the forum.

Below is a pic I found on the internet (in case any other vets can ID it) but to me it looks like a fairly generic supermini e-cig, which are made by many companies in China. Manufacturers like JSB are quite a big producer of this style of e-cig (they are the OEM for many branded e-cigs like Blu), and it looks like it could be one of theirs. If you have better pics of exactly what you have (including the battery/atty connectors) then you'd stand a better chance of getting a more definitive ID on it.

Onto the adapter, I assume you are wanting to use Safecig cartomizers on your batteries? A cartomizer is a cartridge with the atomizer built into it, which attaches directly to the battery. When people talk about cartridges, they normally mean the type that attaches to a separate atomizer (a "three piece" model with battery, atomizer and cartridge). While cartomizer e-cigs are two piece models - battery and cartomizer. It would not usually be possible to use the cartridges with an atomizer other than the type they are designed for, but you can extract the liquid from them using with a syringe and use it to refill the correct cartridges.

Assuming the Safecig cartomizer you want to fit on the battery is an RN4081 model, then the only adapters commonly available are 510 battery to RN4081 or DSE901 battery to RN4081. It's definitely not a DSE901 connector in the pic of the Royal Blue kit above, but it could be a 510 style connector, so the 510-RN4081 adapter would be the one to try. The 510 style connector is used on a lot of e-cigs, including some of the JSB models. If that adapter doesn't work then it's doubtful any others will unfortunately. The adapters are cheap - for example $1.49 here - PV Adapters

Really though, my recommendation would be to think about getting a new kit, both for better performance and for ease of obtaining spares and cartomizers. It'll work out cheaper in the long run. I'm sure you'll get some recommendations if you ask on the forum :)
