I love the NIMH AA batteries.
I love Modding, former hot rod gear head.
I love variable voltage and lust after variable wattage

My requirements
6 each AA NIMH batteries 6 to 9 volt out put, allowing for voltage overhead to power a step down converter.
1 each box, self contained, enclosed, with room for
batteries
recessed 3 ohm stardust or mini Vivi tank
ever cool or DNA chip set
Volt/amp meter
Main power switch, slide style
Momentary switch to control chip set, no power used unless needed
dtdp switch to control Volt Meter
Bright red LCD, flashlight like the Puck Camper, preserves night vision
Tact switch for Flash light

The box has eluded me until now!

Now if I can find a supplier that I do not have to buy 100 of the darn boxes!

Not happy about the price!

I been thinking about that also

I like the way a puck works at about 4.8 volts and 3 ohms which uses about 1.6 amps or about 7.7 watts.
Pretty conservative compared to some of what I have read about on the mods forum

2 nimh batteries would provide, fresh off the charger about 3 volts and about 1.8 volts when they start to get pretty tired.

I have been looking for a reasonably efficient and reasonable physical size boost regulator.
